It all fits with accepting the concept of a "mostly peaceful" protest that involves looting and arson.

It fits in with the condemnation of the Republican Party by claiming they want to destroy democracy, yet endorse support and promote every sort of violation of the Bill of Rights during the pandemic hysteria.

There is no logic in first refusing to indict President Bidden because a jury would prceive him to bre an old fool, next insisting for months that the president has no cognitive problem then forcing him to drop out of the campaign because he obviously does, but keeping him on as president . . .who is running the country?

I have a similar take. What do you think is behind the hypocrisy? Emotion, cynicism, lack of curiosity?
Is there a guiding principle that supersedes the contradictions?

What’s behind the hypocrisy.

Power.

It is obvious that Biden has not been running much of anything for a while. So who is actually running the Country.

It’s a coalition of Democrats ram rodded by Obama, Peloci, and Schumer. The used Biden until the public finally got to see him in unscripted action during the first debate.

The driving force, however, behind all of this is a deep hatred for anything Trump.

Yes of course, for people in power and their minions, it's about power. But what about people posting on here, how do they reconcile?

Is it just pure hatred? I don't despise people on the other side, so it's hard for me to understand that sentiment directed at our side.

For example, I don't like Obama, I think he was a cynical politician, but I don't think he's the devil.

Yet our guy gets compared to all kinds of historical figures, and not in a flattering way, and it's almost baffling that a liberal NY businessman with classic NY chutzpa would end up as the antichrist for them.

Both Biden and Harris are or will be puppets.

There are others pulling levers and strings behind the scens . . .but who?

Who is running the day to dy affaires at the White House? Who is shaping policy, foreign and domestic?

I have said it before, I doubt any of our Liberal members really wish to see Kamala Harris be elected President.

But their deep hatred for Trump seems to out weigh all other considerations.

I agree. It doesn't really seem like the people we elect really run very much or represent our best interests does it..

Trump lost to Biden and Kamala in 2020 because he mishandled the Pandemic with comments like "When the snow melts in April the CoVid virus will go away" He did not take any steps to control the spread. His corporate tax cut was preceived to be a tax cut that favored the 1% and did little for the middle class

Jan 6, 2021 was not just a peaceful demonstration that got out of control. It was much more than that, just ask Liz Cheney. These are some of the reasons Trump is compared to as you say "all kinds of historical figures".

One more thing, Trump has been against the ACA (Obamacare) since day one. The ACA went into law back in 2014 that was 10 years ago. In the debate against Harris he only has a concept of a plan to replace it? How long has Trump been preaching repeal and replace?

Now do you understand why the daughter of a biochemist from India and an Economics professor from Jamaica is in a very tight race with Trump for president.

I would agree with that except for former President Trump. I think what really angers and even scares the power elite on both sides is that Mr. Trump actually was attempting to run the country as though he were th chief executive officer of a mega corporation.

He won't play ball the way Republican presidents did in the past. Many years ago, I was shocked to see how well GHW Bush got along wikth Bill Clinton when both were out of office. I was blindsided when former VP Chaney sided with the Democrats against Trump. . . .and GHW Bush is squishy to opposed to Trump.

I know a guy who retired as a judge. His whole creer he ran as a Republican. Yet, after riding to the gym with him for several yers (in his Tesla) I came to realize that he would have quickly swapped party affiliations to stsy on the bench (which can be a cushey job). Not actually a conservative, he despised the tea party movement and revbiled Sen. Ted Cruse, for instance.

He is in fact a Republican-In-Name-Onley.

These people, and there are a lot of them, truly hate Mr. Trump for not playing their game, for being a lose canon ball, an uncontrolableoutlier.

Lots to unravel here.

Covid was a mess. It was handled on the federal and state levels. The result was inconsistency across the country. At the federal level Trump went along with Fauci's and CDC's recommendations and tried to facilitate. IMO mistakes were made and it was technocracy run amok at the expense of civil rights.

Tax cuts:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_Cuts_and_Jobs_Act
Looks like everyone got one

January 6.. I'm sorry, we just disagree on this. Lots of provocateurs in that crowd and way overblown IMO

Obamacare is a mess. Healthcare in this country is a mess. I'm baffled how a sophisticated rich country like the US can have such an f'd up healthcare system period.

The race is close because a good portion of the country will vote Dem no matter what. Harris has no substance, whatsoever.. her husband put it well:

That's the astonishing thing. SO many people seem to think Look Liz Cheney opposes Trump.. therefor Trump is bad.

The only thing that explains the opposition to Trump from the Elites on both sides of the aisle is that he's not an insider. He knows how it works because he's swam in those waters for years in NYC, but he really is a populist. He's what happens when the Tea Party got ground down by the IRS and the media. If people think he's a fascist, they don't want to see what comes after Trump.

I fully expect him to get whacked by a professional killer and then the Trump voters are going to realize, there is no voting our way out of this. We will either rally behind A REAL FCUKING FASCIST who will tear down useless government institutions or we will have a full blown sectional war.

Trump is the moderate.... how can people be so willfully blind. The will of the people is NOT going to be subverted. Americans are not Europeans. We are armed. We are veterans. We have families, and we want to be left alone. If the left cannot do that, the left is going to regret it.

It's not a threat... its an easy prediction to make. A casual reading of American history ought to educate people on what will happen. The right still has hope that elections (as rigged and flawed as they may be) are workable alternatives to violence. IF/when Trump wins, Biden is gonna have an accident, Karmela will take his place and the people that are really running things will not let her concede. They need the figure head... and too many of them face jail time and worse for their abuses.

Liberal logic doesn't make any sense and they think that light at the end of the tunnel is the sun.... it's not.

I could have sworn the topic was liberal logic, not the utter lack of rational thought on the right. Wow! That's gotta be treatable.

IDK, people seemed to stay on topic. Could you perhaps elucidate for us?

In a word: deceit, aka projection. Remember all that rot about "Trump's" supposed Project 2025, which he disavowed multiple times?? Smoke and mirrors to mask their lack of stated policy, which turns out to look their own Project 2025.
