would note here that, while predominantly black Baptist congregations have been historically associated with political support for liberal Democrats, they are also evangelical in their theology. Christian evangelists seem to span the political spectrum.
I would also note that a seminal tenant of Islan is evangelism and bringing the faith to others. In the recent pst, Moslem voters have supported liberal democrats.

And the "godless communists" did not?
The socialist progressive left today is much the same as the pre-war Stalinists of the 1920s and 1930s. "Cancel Culture" is the gentlest form of their coercion.
Imposition of "The Truth" through fear mongering, coercion and intimidation of non-believers is a major activity on the part of those pushing the Green New Deal.
I would say the same about many aspects of the pandemic hysteria. "Believe The Science" lead to a huge dislocation of society based on what is now considered to be erroneous information.

Religion has always been about two things. Money and control
You need to be indoctrinated in the message- so that everyone knows the rules and the "right way" to reply. The masses that take in Sunday' rituals where there are both Hymns or Eucharistic liturgy.
How many times have you ever been to a church, "may the lord be with you", reply "AND ALSO WITH YOU".
Literally -it's a training of how to reply, respond. The other part of religion from the past was that the control of church was to support local activities and safety of being affiliated with the church. They would require tithing to support the actions at the church- as the threat was if you weren't a good catholic (insert religion here) then you won't see heaven or face damnation.
THe last part is about money. Churches are supposed to be non-profits- but damn if most of those big church dudes don't have 1 jet, but maybe a handful of them. Yet they get all the tax breaks by law- another protected class. Money buys influence, and those who cling to religion are also interested in keeping as much of that money as they can- vs. letting that money go to non-church works like the rest of us have done due to paying taxes. It's a scam, a ruse, a joke as to think that these places don't have profits- when they are constantly buying cars, jets, or building bigger churches--to do what- ?> To get more money!
Cancel Culture is a boogeyman for those on the right. Yet they are happy to cancel things like Bud Light, or FAKE NEWS. Talk about the biggest cancel culture- Fake NEWs is likely the big one.- despite the facts.
Green new Deal- trying to be less harmful to the planet, despite cries from the insurance companies who are paying for damage from climate change- and things like the hottest winter, the warmest summers, and increasing rainfalls, and increasing storm intensities on a regular basis. Doing seems the same- will just allow the damage to continue along vs. trying to mitigate our impact on the weather.

This post is nonsensical.
First you introduce communists.
Then you compare politics in the USA to Stalin.
The thread topic is about religion and rights.

Grown ass adults (which don't appear present in the MAGAtard universe) should be ashamed of themselves for pushing their superstitions on their children, and try to force it on critical thinking folks. They should be mocked loudly and publicly. if only for their own good.

The G.O.P. Returns to Its Bad Old Self
The Republican Party in the 1920s, ’30s and early ’40s was steeped in pessimism, and that pessimism showed up as it often does: as nativism, isolationism and protectionism. In 1924, Republicans set strict immigration quotas with the Johnson-Reed Act. As World War II loomed, Senator Gerald Nye urged the passage of several neutrality acts to keep us from exporting arms to warring nations and opposed Lend-Lease to Britain. Senator Robert Taft supported the America First movement before the United States joined the war, and after the war he opposed the Marshall Plan, NATO, the World Bank and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, which was designed to lower trade barriers.
Ronald Reagan gets most of the credit, but it was Ike, not Reagan, who transformed the G.O.P. from an anxious, inward-looking party into a confident, outward-facing one. He and his internationalist successors believed that the only way to prevent more world wars was to build a multilateral democratic world order.

I would recommend everyone read this if they can.

Good article. Thanks. The "if they can" was probably pretty much the show stopper for the MAGAts on here. Haven't seen any evidence they can read.

My entire point is that indoctrination and total control of society is not a unique characteristic of any one religion or political system. It is to be resisted wherever it is found.
The OP equated one segment of the Christian community with control and indoctrination. I compared this with the atheist communist movements that established total, centralized social control of a continent spanning nation while rejecting God and actively suppressing all religions.
I made a similar comparison to the efforts at total control of society that occurred during the pandemic, initially by the first Trump administration which followed the technical advice of liberal 'experts" such as Fauci and Birx. The following administration whole heartedly embraced the control efforts of he progressive left. We now know that most of the masking, inoculating, distancing and so on were not as effective as we were told when these mandates were imposed.
To rerun to the OP: Religion of whatever type has no exclusive lock on attempting to control communities, societies and entire populations through indoctrination, intimidation and oppression.

Politicians and government in general like to control people. Thankfully we have freedom of religion and individual liberties enshrined in our Constitution.
Where I live, requirements to mask and social distance were short lived and nobody was required by government to get vaccinated, so I don't agree with the COVID analogy, at least as it pertains to me.
