One hundred plus years of "Jim Crow" was forced discrimination. Affirmative Action is an inclusive program. It just says consider hiring qualified candidates from all groups. The unemployment rate is 3.5%. By definition that means we are virtually at full employment. Just ask any labor economist.

When Bush43 got admitted into the Harvard MBA program with just a 2.7 GPA, yes he did take the spot from some other student that was more qualified. That does not seem to bother you as much.

You have Clarance Thomas in your avatar. Thomas went to Law School at Yale with HRC and slick Willie Clinton at the same time. When Thomas was admitted was that due to affirmative action or was he admitted based on merit? Just asking for a friend.

Don't think I 've ever heard a prominent Repub call him an affirmative action admission (though it's possible ) but I've heard Dems refer to him as an Uncle Tom. A Georgia Dem state Senator I believe for instance.

3. When Hubert Humphrey started talking about Civil rights for blacks in the 1950's the dixiecrats disbanded and the joined the republican party. The late Senator Strom Thurman was a perfect example. You remember Senator Thurman, he was the staunch segregationist who fathered a child with a Black woman. This was before he joined the repubican party. His good buddy was Gov George Wallace of Alabama. He would not let blacks register for class, so President Kennedy sent the National Guard so that blacks could register. Point is not ALL democrats believed in Jim Crow. It was the southern democrats. You conviently forget about that.
