On the other hand, Joe has no competition, despite being a bit up there in age, that comes even close to beating him.
Can't shame on the current POTUS for being bad when the competition that could possible compete for the office is so much more worse!
Good work Joe! Keeping the bar up there just high enough that even the more inept can't best you!

No, not at all. By all means, if you think you'll be a better candidate for POTUS for either parties, there is nothing preventing you from running.
Biden is still on the ballot because there is not a reasonable candidate from the GOP stepping forth, nor has there been any indication that someone else from his party is going to run.
So when you have no competition, there's no point in dropping out. He will win by default. But I find it highly unlikely that there will not be anyone else running for the office this year. They just haven't announced who is going to run.
I do feel that if there is a reasonable person announced at DNC that Biden might step down and not run, but if not, he is going to run, like it or not.
The GOP has nobody to blame other than themselves for setting the bar so low that it's burred 6 feet under the ground

Did you understand what was written? Canidates didn't qualify under their laws It's just them spouting sour grape. Which is now in vogue, with losers, because of trump.

I for one, would encourage any candidate that meets the qualifications for being on ballot, to be on the ballot. If there is a reason you don't qualify, then there is a old write in option unless you are a treasonous insurrectionist etc. BUT I think anyone who wants to be on the ballot and can be, without prejudice or crimes against being on it, should be on it!
I'm all for RFK, or Jill Stein, Gavin Newsome or anyone else getting on it. That's literally the way to beat this system of a two party system, where the money only goes to those party nominees. It's full of terrible limitations. SAME on the GOP ticket!

Why yes I did and unlike sheep that only see what they want, I look further into the matter. The election board was urged by the dnc to do this and goes against how they proceeded as early as 2020 and goes against their by laws.
FYI this isn't about trump so stick to the subject

Basically what Republicans are saying is that the 14th Amendment is meaningless. Slippery slope toward authoritarianism with that line of thinking.

Chizzy- I think he's suggesting that they are applying the 14th, amendment to keep Trump off the ballot. Beyond the impeachment in the house (political charges), and the now conspiracy charges in GA(criminal), the part n parcel of being affiliated with the reasons for not being allowed on the ballot is being facilitated. I think the whole idea of SCOTUS ruling needs to happen sooner than later. And there is a whole thing about Thomas recusing himself since his wife was part of the organizers on Jan 6th, (diff subject) but the idea is that DEMS feel legitimized in keeping Trump off the ballot, based on the interpretation of that amendment by those offices in the states, who determine who will be on ballot.

If the competition in the Republican party is not valid to be on the ballot per the 14th, and there is no other candidate who is eligible to hold office to run, then it is a fact that Biden would not have anyone running against him in the Republican camp.
In Pittsburgh, this past election, did we not have a couple offices that we were voting for that didn't have someone running against someone? There was only one candidate. Because there weren't more than one candidates.
You are still free to write in whoever you want to vote for, even if they aren't running for office. Only that, if they are not eligible to hold the office you write them in for, then your vote isn't going to do anything.
So, Trump shouldn't be put on the ballot, because he is not eligible to hold office, because of the 14th.
If you vote for Trump via write in, your vote should be void, because he is not eligible to hold office (either he is under 35, or not a citizen, or an insurrectionist AKA the 14th).
So in summary, the statement "Biden doesn't have any competition for running for POTUS!' is true.
The statement that says "There's no Republican candidate on the ballot for POTUS because the candidate they want to win isn't eligible for office!' is also true.
The issue is that the GOP needs to get their MAGAs out of their ass and put someone up to the vote who isn't an insurrectionist. Which, oddly enough, seems to be pretty difficult for them! Surprising, isn't it?

It has literally everything to do with it. It's the very foundation they've made their decision on.
And the 14th is just as important as the 1st, 2nd, or any other. You can't just cherrypick the Constitution and only abide by the parts you like. It's not the bible lol.
