12/11/23 sex trafficking bust in Collin County
https://www.fox4news.com/news/collin...source=twitter
Not a lot of details, but noted the gang coerced women into becoming escorts.
UPDATE: More details in this WFAA report:
https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/cr...a-b10501806a16
Apparently they were operating out of a Plano rental home, with neighbors noticing various young women going in and out. It’s not clear if they were entertaining clients there; kinda sounds like this was home base and not an incall.

The reported Trafficking is over-used, because that allows local PD to qualify for Federal Grant money. But I have been to creepy places where it's real.
Txt'ed a Bedpage number promising GFE & BBFS, and the photos were full-on fucking. In 10 seconds I received a reply stating the pricing, that VIP was uncovered, and here's the address. I arrive in a typical neighborhood, but the exact address did not exist. I texted and was given the correct address. Walked into a dim house, all drapes closed, absolutely no furniture, bags of some food on the kitchen counter, bedrooms only had a mattress on the floor. It almost felt like they were squatters. Sex was bad. Everything covered. Tried to get her for OTC, and was told via translator that she can't leave house, Owners watch them. When I left, I noticed a camera in the overhang pointing back at the door. They got my face leaving, not when I was arriving. The whole scene was sketchy AF. Never answered a BBFS Bedpage ad again.

@TexomaCowboy: live and learn. I got my “aha” moment some 15 years ago when I met a young woman in a seedy motel near the Irving/Dallas border. She was very lively and talkative, and I let her go on until 20 minutes into the conversation she got a call. Her smile faded and the light went out of her eyes. She said very little on the phone, and when she hung up she said we needed to hurry since we had only ten minutes left. I paid the full fee, and told her I hope she’s able to get out of whatever situation she’s in. She almost cried. I left without getting any action, and was fine with that. As I was driving away I could see a menacing looking guy watching me from the motel office.
Obviously, it didn’t scare me completely straight since I’m still in the hobby, but it did change how I hobby.
Trafficking is real and has gotten worse. LE overuses the word when they discuss prostitution. Both things can be true. Guys need to understand that and accept what that means when they pursue P4P, and also accept that they will likely never know what the true circumstances are under which they are agreeing to meet a lady.
For me that means trying to avoid obviously pimped women, but accepting that I may not be able to figure that out in all cases. Hell, I may not be right half the time for all I know, but I try.

Thanks for sharing stories and we should take heed and learn from others mistakes when we can. I don’t indi out of abundance of caution given new laws and the more frequent reporting of human trafficking. I don’t know what to believe. Common sense tells me that most in the business have to be willing participants but what percent aren’t. 5, 10, 20 percent I don’t know. For feds to be involved there had to be some evidence of at least threatened violence to at least one of these ladies so I believe in this instance these guys were exhibiting control over these women and they were using them for get money. Frame that how you want, pimping or sex trafficking. It’s sad. On the other hand I do agree there is overuse of the term sex trafficking by media and police to get headlines and federal money support so it causes some to eye roll but where there is smoke there is fire and in some of these cases at least there is truth in the reporting.

The DOJ said that Plano Police conducted a years-long investigation into an alleged sex trafficking organization
Sounds like their funding was going to run out at the end of the year and they needed something to show for the millions of dollars they had spent..
If there truly was trafficking, the police involved all deserved to be fired for letting it go on for an entire year.
Like the Robert Kraft sex trafficking case which was investigated for 6 months, at the end, they arrested the women who gave him the handy.

These pigs are milking the system with their mediocre arrest that can be done any night of the week, what a waste of tax dollars

If coerced, then I applaud the LE. However, they always play up ghe trafficking angle to vilify TV he promoters. I’m sure the girls are looking forward to making $20 to minimum wage instead of being victimized by human traffickers.

Any of y’all ever go to the house on Bowser street a few years ago. That place was sketchy as hell. I was new and unwise and didn’t know better. I had the heebie jeebies when I got to the room with just a matress, had an overwhelming feeling that I needed to GTFO now, so I did - skipped all activities. It got busted not too long ago. Good riddance.

It’s not a binary choice. If they truly want to be in sex work they could always do it on their own. Plenty of ladies start out with a pimp, then figure out they don’t have to pay him or her the majority of their earnings and go independent. It’s the pimps who don’t allow that to happen who need to be taken off the streets.

The reason that it took years is because the DOJ was involved and they won’t take a case to court unless it involves a lot of arrests or high profile arrests.
Each time you go up the scale so to speak of prosecutor’s it takes longer to build a case for them to want to take it. Trying to get a local Assistant DA to take a case would take a week’s worth of investigations. The actual DA may be a month, State prosecutor may be three and when you get to federal than good luck.
Prosecutor roles are political roles too, they don’t want dozens of cases they have to fight in court and potentially lose. They want slam dunks and confessions.
I’d have thought the Bungalow case a while back would have educated people on don’t do business in a Plano Airbnb.

... and plea deals, which are considered a successful prosecution, while avoiding the cost of lengthy trials.
