My old phone was 5g and this new one is 6g...I have AT&T and everytime I was in Aurora, I would lose signal and service. I barely received coverage in Colorado Springs as well....my phone might've worked about 45% of the time that I was in town....but then again most people i encountered up there said they used Verizon ....so perhaps there weren't enough cell towers or maybe the mountains blocked the signal. Not too sure....but at least now I know its not just me, who no longer receives notifications whenever they get mail from this site....I honestly chalked it up to some glitch I must have encountered after switching my data from my old pixel phone to my new Samsung....

Just curious if your cell provider actually sold you a 6G phone as the technology is not yet standardized, and is still in-development. 5G just got the USA rollout a year or so ago, so 6G will most likely be the standard in the next 5-8 years.

Verizon uses 6-frequency bands for 5G (very low through ultra high) while AT&T uses only 3. For some reason, I struggle with cell strength in VA whereas the Verizon folks are streaming YouTube.

As for the airport areas... 5G can cause the aircraft radar altimeter (RadAlt) to report an incorrect altitude, so a lot of the carriers have disabled the frequency band on cell sites co-located next to and adjacent to major airports.

My old site is no longer working. EB recently decided to stop allowing providers in the U.S. access to their site & services. As for my phone....


The Galaxy S23 series does not disappoint in this regard, as it offers both sub-6 and mmWave connectivity.
While most modern smartphones offer 5G connectivity, not every device supports the super-fast mmWave 5G. While mmWave offers much faster speeds, it's far more restricted in terms of range. In comparison, sub-6GHz bands offer relatively slower speeds, but cover a much larger area, making it more practical for carriers to roll out 5G connectivity at an affordable price. While 5G users will end up connecting to sub-6 networks most of the time, the mmWave spectrum is largely used in select areas, like sports arenas, stadiums, airports, and other large venues.


All three major carriers in the U.S. offer both sub-6 and mmWave connectivity. However, they brand their services differently, which can be confusing to some users. T-Mobile markets its sub-6 5G as '5G Extended Range' and its mmWave 5G as '5G UC' or 'Ultra Capacity,' while Verizon uses '5G Nationwide' for its sub-6 network and '5G Ultra Wideband' for its mmWave service. As for AT&T, it has a regular 5G branding for its sub-6GHz service while marketing its mmWave network as 5G+. It is worth noting that some mid-range smartphones leave out mmWave bands to cut costs. One such example is the iPhone SE 3, which supports sub-6GHz bands from all three major networks, but not mmWave connectivity. So it's good to see that the Galaxy S23 offers both sub-6 and mmWave 5G support.



All I know is at the top of my phone it currently says 5g+....but sometimes it says 6g.... unfortunately technology isn't my forte so I just copied and pasted this lol....
