Looking forward to Round 14 starting sometime after 10pm. McCarthy allies are telling folks to be ready for a very long night as they plan to vote on the rules package following what they predict is a win before midnight
|
nope, not worth the time, my point was its a common tactic by both sides..not an agruement simply an observation
lighting up a cigar and relaxing.........
and my guess is mccarthy will end up getting the votes needed. I dont see this as a big issue at all, the 20 some republicans are pushing to get some things they are afraid wont happen if they dont challenge..... so a few days were lost, not a big issue to be made.

Idk, some of the concessions really do hamstring the Speaker's ability to lead.

Doesn't matter who blinks if some of those become actual rules. Gaetz will be absolutely correct about the Speaker operating in a straight jacket and McCarthy will wonder how Boehner and Ryan ever had it so damn good

Correct. McCarthy got the votes needed and if we get:
- A balanced budget
- Budget cuts
- House Rules Committee having independent authority from leadership for the first time in over 60 years
- Conservative influence on the Rules committee
- Church Style Commission Investigating the Corrupt FBI, DOJ, etc
- Ability to remove the Speaker
- Term Limit Vote
- Border Plan Votes
- 72 Hours to read a bill
- Single subject bills not filled with unrelated nonsense
- Ending the Covid Public Health Emergency
- And more
All because 20 brave men and women stood up for the American people, that is a win all around. It would be a victory for the Constitutional rights of all Americans.

Once again, the Republican Party believes in ideas, debate, pluralism, transparency, freedom.
The Democrat Party believes in absolute conformity and uniformity — tolerating no dissent — and want to zealously enforce their rigid marxist orthodoxy on us all.

Funny that the Dems are the ones who passed more laws and legislative than the prior GOP administration. When you mention ideas and debates....what great ideas did the GOP produce?
What will be their great idea in the next 2 yrs?
I will say that the transparency will be refreshing after all the horseshit from the last 20 years.
To that- I'm on board with cameras being on in the house, and hope they keep them there. Otherwise the mere photo- ops and sound bites are all we get. I liked seeing both sides working in the past and hope they keep this.
As far as pluralism goes, time will tell, but I hold little hope to see that with the tribalism that is entrenched in both sides and even the rhetoric being thrown out by McCarthy.
But hope is all we got.

Exactly Chizzy !!!!
Eye actually made my point for me. The Democrat Party believes in absolute conformity and uniformity — tolerating no dissent. That is why Der Fuhrer Drunken Pelosi was able to pass more laws and regulations because all the crazy ass leftists in the House fell right in line like obedient followers. No debate nor dissent permitted
Every vote should look like the speaker’s vote - deliberate, debate, caucus, amend, cut deals, vote with transparency. Like a proper legislature worthy of a free country.

Contrary Mon frare,....I never said more laws or regulations but pushing forward legislation that effects change. Not every law is a limit, case in point was amendments to the constitution for women or voters rights.
But then again I guess you conservatives think any law is a limit. Maybe a limit on the control the old white men have on this country, but not to be limits on society. Sometimes laws are to protect the status quo and sometimes it's to break it.
Why are you afraid of progress for things like investing in healthcare, power sources, infrastructure or education?
Or is the only thing you care about is investigation and mental masterbation?
Nevermind, the answer is obvious.

Chip Roy, Matt Gaetz, Scott Perry and the rest of the group of 20 have done more to defend American freedom in the last week than Senile Biden has in his entire 50 years in politics. If we had more of these patriots in Congress, America would be much better off.
Accountability Returns to the House !!!

VICTORY: The House approved the rules package.
To all of the idiots on TV and crazy ass leftists everywhere who decried the 20 Republicans for forcing debate and "holding the Speaker vote hostage," these conservatives fundamentally transformed the 118th Congress & delivered a massive win for the American people.

I'm happy that House staffers will end up getting paid for their work.
The Freedom Caucus remains a pile of extremist self-serving clowns.

- Conservative influence on the Rules committee
- Church Style Commission Investigating the Corrupt FBI, DOJ, etc
- Reinstating the ability to remove the Speaker
- Term Limit Vote
- Border Plan Votes
- 72 Hours to read a bill
- Single subject bills not filled with unrelated nonsense
- Ending the Covid Public Health Emergency
