5 million rounds stockpiled. $600,000 to $1.1 million spent annually on ammunition. Wow! Well, at least unlike so much other government spending, this has been a good investment. Have you noticed how much prices of ammo have increased?

Most citizens want to know why the irs even has firearms.
I echo that myself!

The only fact in that link is the ammo and arms. The rest is left leaning jargon that is really an outright lie.
The question still remains. Why do govt. accountants need firearms? Of any type! These rogue agencies always seem to stock pile right before elections. WONDER WHY??

Maybe a few citizens, probably not "most" want to know. Not that hard...if you were executing a legally authorized warrant against a mafia member, drug dealer, money launder, massage parlor, stop club, wouldn't you want to be armed and therefore expect them to be as well?
Those special agents are a small subset of the total IRS workforce. The ordinary pencil pushing auditors aren't armed (or required to be) and likely never confront those audited in person. Of course, I support their right to carry, since they too are citizens protected by amendment 2.

Most citizens arent aware that the irs has weapons.
The irs should not have armed agents. Their sister agencies should be the ones doing the field work.
The real Treasury agents and fbi should be handling the field work.
As i knew and the articles state. The irs has very few armed agents. Again why have any at all? Why so many weapons for a small number of persons? And why are they assault style weapons? Why stockpile millions of rounds? Why do these rogue agencies always do this right before an election? Especially when dems are in power?

When Government Agencies in full SWAT Gear, armed with automatic weapons, storm into elderly person’s homes at 5:00AM to arrest him for a what amounts to a process crime, you tend to loose faith in not only those in charge, but the field men who should know better.
“We are only following orders”. Where have you heard that before?

I am sure you can differentiate between citizens exercising their right to peacefully assemble and bring regress before their Government and armed agents ignoring even basic Constitutional Rights.
Yes, I know there were several bone heads in the crowd that broke the law and acted no better than the ANTIFA, paid protestors, Biden supporters, and midnight shoppers who cause mayhem at the drop of a hat.
But the vast majority were citizens exercising their rights.

If an IRS agent is serving a warrant, a legal warrant, then they should be accompanied by local law enforcement. Thems the rules.

Them is Not the rules...maybe your dream....but NOT the rules. Tax evasion is often the charge used to bring down illicit activities. IRS special agents are fully empowered to serve their own warrants...from the IRS website:
9.4.12.3.1(08-11-2008)
Statutory Authority to Arrest
The statutory authority for special agents to make arrests is contained in 26 USC §7608, as amended. This statute enables special agents to:
execute and serve search warrants and arrest warrants, and serve subpoenas and summonses issued under authority of the United States
make arrests without warrant for any offense against the United States relating to the Internal Revenue laws committed in their presence, or for any felony cognizable under such laws if they have reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed or is committing any such felony
make seizures of property subject to forfeiture under the Internal Revenue laws

... Maybe Biden is gonna do yet-another "Executive Order"
and repeal the second amendment. ... And all those new
IRS agents are gonna come to your houses and confiscate
your guns.
... IRS? ... Crikey! ... They might wanna send the IRA.
Gonna be tough to do.
