I am so excited to start planning a vacay to Dallas. Is there anything I should know before going?

It's a big place and everyone's got different views of Dallas depending on where there at. The dfw megaplex has a little bit of everything for someone.

what do you want yo do while vacay-ing here - amusement parks, lakes, walking/bike trails, shopping, kinds of foods, museums, strip clubs, swinget clubs ???

as stated above, from western ft worth to eastern mesquite is about 65 miles; from mckinney to southern dallas is about 50 miles.

there are lots of hotels from chains that keep the lights on at nite (so you can spot the "managers") to super nice 5 star hotels. one suggestion i've heard, look for best prices on priceline .comor hotels.com etc. then call the hotel directly and see if they will match that price.
