Yes, absolutely. If Americans want European social programs, the lower and middle classes need to start to pony up like the Europeans do. You can’t rely on 10% of the population to provide benefits for the other 90%.

Silly WTF, of course not. In America the poor, like the rich, pay a higher % of their income in taxes (income + property + sales) than the middle class. Overall America has the most progressive tax system in the OECD, but if you were just to look at tax rates for the bottom 50%, the system would look regressive.
Where should we get the money? Well I think we should tax the hell out of people who think taxes are too low. Like you. And members of the Patriotic Millionaires.

Very true. Captain Midnight posted a graph showing tax rates in France as a function of income that perfectly illustrated your point.

I thought you were arguing for more help for the poor????
Jeez, make up your mind!
And taxes are obviously not covering spending....so if you're not going to cut spending and let's go Realpolitik and poibt out neither party has....then it is not me that says taxes aren't enough but the actual math.

How to Snag Yourself With Your Own Weak Bait
"Please explain the logic of the logic behind the logic of the logic behind...."??
wtf... is that some kind of chimp talk?
So... lemme get this straight... you can't figure out why the Governor of Florida wants to help the state's poorest citizens using a dollop of federal money that costs Florida taxpayers nothing but will disappear if he doesn't avail it?
Seriously? Why is this even threadworthy? Is your purpose to show everyone how utterly clueless you are?

WTF was hoping DeSantis would forfeit the "free" money so his opponents could attack him for being stupid and uncompassionate and oblivious to the interests of his Florida constituents!

Go Big or Go Home!!
Meanwhile, in California...
Gov. Gruesome handed out $12 billion in STATE TAXPAYER MONEY calling it vote-buying checks, er, I mean "stimulus checks" - right on the eve of last year's recall election!!
Did WTF start a thread on that scandal?
That was a REAL scandal, not a fake imagined one.
1. Gov. Gruesome's handouts totaled almost 350 TIMES the amount dispensed by Gov. DeSantis.
2. More importantly, the money was ponied up by California taxpayers, as opposed to federal dollars that would disappear if not spent.
The dim-retards set a BRAZEN NEW PUBLIC CORRUPTION PRECEDENT... once you get into state office, you can just dip into the state's public till and use it without shame or embarrassment to pay voters DIRECT BRIBES to keep you in office.
That's soooo much easier than fund-raising and having to beg donors for campaign money at the French Laundry!!
“I mean, it’s extremely obvious what he did,” explained former lobbyist Harry Schultz to the Globe on Tuesday. “They want that money to go out as soon to the (recall) election as possible... People going out to vote will have a lot of recent things on their mind, and getting $600 will be a big thing. It can be a deciding factor for many.”

Nope. Terrible analogy of Tiny's argument... an argument shared by Texas Contrarian and most non-partisan economists!
If one glass of wine a day is good for your health, it doesn't mean 10 glasses a day is ok.
P.S. Is your gay boyfriend still in a coma?

Only a complete idiot would sue the Republican doctor - and not that reckless, irresponsible dim-retard quack named Pelosi who OD'd your gay boyfriend.

the dimocrats use that catchphrase, "for the children",
when they wish to spread money around to their support troopers,
like spending in government schools or more money for welfare organizations, when the effect really means more salary for the minions who then pass some of it back
of course the use of "for the children" is a logical fallacy and is meant to dissuade thought and to appeal to emotion
while payment direct to the parents might mean the payment of a utility bill, or an extra bag of groceries or a tank of gas and is certainly much better than money given to some government agency or ngo
it remains nigh impossible and fraught with extreme difficulty to give to the hungry children
the integrity of the modern equivalent of the food stamp has been assaulted with intent to convert to very untoward uses
yes, assaulted with all the devious cunning and trailer park cleverness known to man and at times known only to either the very crepuscular or the nocturnal
the children wont feel a thing unless they get a toy out of the deal
the sad state we find ourselves in is that if we don't use the money, it goes back to the black hole of washington, where $35 million is the equivalent of a very skinny gnat on an elephants left rear toe nail

Chimp talk?
I suppose I should have spoken in Gay-wa-nese to you. Sorry
Let me ask it so someone who fancies himself an economic guru but isn't, might understand.
How logical is it for the government to continually supplement inflated dollars it orginally inflated?

So from your economic guru mountain top...you think it brilliant to continually give away money to counteract the negative effect of inflation your previous giveaway induced.
Wow....and you think Laffer was a joke!

Nonpartisan economists???? Let's see where you fall on the partisan/ Nonpartisan side.
Except the amount give was not a 10-1 ratio. So that bullshit lying ship of yours has already sailed.
What it appears is that your partisan hackie-nesss has arisen yet again.
Trumps attempt to buy votes = good
Biden's attempt to pay back voters for their support = bad.
So you lied about the ratio and you overlook one candidate who buys votes vs the other!
P.S.I'm starting to believe my gay friend when he says he fucked your brains out.
