Interesting Columbine paralell.
https://www.npr.org/2021/11/09/10490...hool-shootings
The NRA was concerned that only the hardcore fringe members would show up to the Convention. Fast forward to 2022.. That's who showed up. Abbott, Crenshaw and others pussied out, making excuses. The Singers were honest about why they skipped out.

this kid's dysfunctional family is the root cause not the NRA.

The Liberals will always tell ya what to be afraid of and who or what to blame. When it comes to violent acts involving a firearm the Gun is the article of fear and the blame goes to the NRA and the Republican Party. The perpetrator hardly gets any criticism from the Left.

Why not return to virtual learning? You dunces want home schooling. Here’s your chance! Of course if you’re sitting on the ordinance at home you claim to be, the kid stands a better chance at a public shooting range, errr, school.
Dummies want it both ways.

if you listen to the WaPo's reporting they make the claim Cruz wants to ban doors however we all know how fair and unbiased the WaPo is, right?
"Trump and Cruz pushed for hardening school buildings, with Trump calling for the elimination of gun-free school zones and Cruz saying schools should have a single door guarded by armed police or trained military veterans — a plan that would appear likely to run afoul of fire safety laws requiring more than one exit in buildings. Cruz also called for bulletproof doors and locking classroom doors."

i'm rather certain Cruz meant single point of entry not removing all other doors but one.

We already have that in some local schools. It worked great last year, when 300 children would line up outside the one door for temperature checks that took 20 minutes to complete.
Talk about a ripe situation for a Massacre.

that was for covid which isn't always needed. security is needed long term.
would you be against having armed guards at all entry points? i wouldn't. also some schools make students pass through metal detectors or be scanned with a wand. this by the way is common in court houses so some asshole can't bring a gun inside.
recall that we now know that some teacher left the door this punk entered by unlocked where from what i read it should have been locked for security reasons.
why is the left not supporting hardening schools, beyond the obvious facts Republicans proposed it and the left wants to take away guns?
any line where people have to wait for entry could be used for a mass attack, at nearly any event. a concert, a spots event, anything that draws a large crowd to a venue. so what do you do to stop that? end all such events?

Sure there are other ripe mass gatherings, but the most Evil seek out school children. Concerts and sports have not been a problem.
A guard at every door is impractical. I could go with one armed guard per school. You get more, and armed Teachers, and I guarantee more innocent people will be killed, than lives saved through stopping intruders. Metal detectors at every entrance works. Already have them at main entrances, locally.
I think the left is okay with a broad array of measures. Gun restrictions is one piece.
Why hasn't that Teacher been identified, I wonder? Serious breach. But that's the thing. You can pass laws to put in stationed armed guards, but they have to follow through and do their jobs. Uvalde did not. Sandy Hook didn't. That's why it takes multiple measures, including obvious measures like a 21 age limit to purchase guns.

again i don't believe Cruz meant to remove all doors except one from schools. the point he was trying to make is to prevent many access points where a shooter could enter.
do you think this would have happened if the door the punk used was locked like i hear it should have been?
lax security was a large factor in this. so why not take steps to improve that? the left jabbers about gun control but as Cruz said gun control wouldn't have prevented this issue. so why is that always the only thing the left always yells about?

You can come up with every precautionary measure imaginable that would be feasible in thwarting gun violence in schools Liberals will criticize it, because it doesn't involve "Gun Control". Theoretically every Gun can be removed from this Country and when a nutjob plants a bomb in a school and everyone parishes the Liberal response to that scenario would be, "Well at least no one was shot, Gun Control works", lol.

exactly. in China you have mass murders of kids by crazy assholes with meat cleavers. yes that has happened more than once. so let's ban meat cleavers.
anyone claiming "this only happens in the US" is full of shit. a determined crazy nut will find a way.
look at the list of these mass murders IN CHINA where no one can own guns ...

I think you already knew about this, but the worst school violence attack was in the 1920s when an official of the school blew it up with TNT killing 44 people.
