in this case not one dime should have been paid. however most of the time these departments settle rather than take the risk of a trial and potentially much larger amount being awarded. they should have more spine because in Bailey's case it's clear he and his cousin were committing armed robberies that day. it's why the cops stopped them. the video makes it crystal clear when given the opportunity to be searched he ran. under Colorado law a suspect considered armed can be pursued and if needed fired upon from behind.

i take you are referring to Micheal Brown and Ferguson? he was a big boy and he used his size to rough up a clerk at a smoke shop just before his confrontation with police. there's video of that. and video of him earlier trying to "barter" {forbidden topic} at that same store. not exactly legal tender for legit businesses is it?
and since Brown comes into this, it disproves the false leftist narrative that white cops drive around all day looking for "innocent" blacks to gun down for the "fun of it".
the reason the officer interacted with Brown is because he was walking in the street which is both completely stupid and actually in violation of traffic regulations. and all he had to do was get on the sidewalk as the cop requested him to do and he wouldn't be dead.
instead what does he do? gets uppity with the cop. brilliant!
