Is it just me or do you think it's still weird seeing the post lap band version of Al Sharpton these last few years? I think he was way more comical when he was fat. He just doesn't seem nearly as energetic anymore. I've never taken that media whore seriously but at least before, he was good for some popcorn on occasion... yeah, I know; random and silly ass post but just thinking out loud.

Hard to believe he is just 67 years old. He was a relatively young man, when I remember him in the local NY media back in the '80's with the Tawana Brawley rape hoax. Guess Father Time comes for us all...even race-baiting grifters like him.

The police report did not specifically say whether Arbery was armed, but Merritt has said the victim did not have a weapon.

George Barnhill, one of the prosecutors who first handled the case, defended the actions of the McMichaels and Bryan. In a letter to the Glynn County Police Department, Barnhill said that the three had "solid first hand probable cause" to chase Arbery, a "burglary suspect," and stop him.


"It appears their intent was to stop and hold this criminal suspect until law enforcement arrived," he wrote.

Barnhill also noted that he watched the video of the shooting and said Travis McMichael "was allowed to use deadly force to protect himself" under state law because Arbery had initiated the fight and grabbed the shotgun.

The last week gives hope that the justice system actually works, at least for the plebs. Elites are still insulated from prosecution, even though their crimes are far more serious, but the jogger and Rittenhouse trials ended justly, imo.

Do you believe William Bryan, the neighbor who shot the video, should have gotten a life sentence? That seemed extreme to me, especially if he was just a bystander. But I haven't followed this in the press, at all, and don't know if that was the case. Any thoughts?
