Excellent burgers and they have a few versions of Chicken Fried this or that.
Perhaps a lite snack of a 1/2 pound of boiled shrimp?

Hayes does make good burgers, but they're all the way up in Gladstone. Hayes and Town Topic on Broadway downtown are similar.



There's a newish place in Lees Summit (closer to Independence) called Unks Burgers. I haven't it enough to find it memorable, but it is at least as good as HiBoy or Big Boy.

Snack Shack and BurgerFi have great burgers. For pizza, I like Caseys. Yea, its a gas station but the pizza is great. Your probably gone by now.
