Australia is the model they follow

I don't see the analogy Oeb. Australia hasn't forced vaccines on anyone yet, although I believe they'll require health care workers in assisted living facilities to get vaccinated in a couple of weeks. Practically no one has died of COVID in Australia outside of Victoria and New South Wales. And the deaths in the entire country are less than the number of deaths in some of our cities with populations of 100,000 or 200,000. This has resulted in more vaccine hesitancy in Australia than we have here. Why get the vaccine if nobody's getting COVID? Which makes the time even longer for them to get back to normal, if they're going to continue with lockdowns. I believe the conservative national prime minister and parliament want to get more people vaccinated and then let 'er rip. But the state government may not cooperate.

From conversations with a few Australians, people are fed up with lockdowns in Sydney and Melbourne. In Queensland and Western Australia, it's not as big an issue as lockdowns have been few and far between. You may have a majority of the population there supporting a zero tolerance policy, like they do in New Zealand, because outside of travel, which frequently is forbidden even between states, COVID isn't having as much of an effect on people's lives.

For what it's worth, I'd much rather live in the USA right now than Australia, because we do have the freedom to travel. And yes the frequent lockdowns in New South Wales and Victoria would be a pain in the ass.

Anyway, to my knowledge the Biden administration hasn't forced lockdowns on anyone. Governors did, especially earlier on, but not Biden.

I have zero risk of spreading or contracting COVID despite being unvaccinated, because I'm self quarantined. My COVID impact is most likely significantly less than your own. You should be thanking me instead of wishing that I'd die.

But, it's not about me. It's about China Joe mandating draconian orders because of a surge that has already naturally plateaued and is on its way back down.

It's a complete guess whether or not vaccination will put an end to COVID. More than likely, it won't, and this will be on-going with more boosters and continued mandates and restrictions.
