Eccie has let each local forum discuss politics in its sandbox.
Why create something not needed? Ignore and self control are whats prescribed for those that dont wish to read it.
The political discussions are pretty much carrying this site right now.

When was the last time anything humorous, sports talk or anything not political has posted?
When something is posted that's not political, someone makes it political. So if there was a political form then the mod could keep the conversation on tract (non political in “The Sandbox”)

Post in the National political forum. Problem solved. Or start posted different topics. I tried sports for awhile here. Not a lot of interest.

As the others have stated the owners do not want to add local political threads They would prefer the local discussions be kept in the local Sandbox and then the national political forum.
Time moderating these threads can be extremely time consuming so adding a local political forum is not going to happen at this time.

Makes ultimate sense. There’s already a forum dedicated to politics. Just go there.

People will chat about what interests them. You are free to post a thread that is humorous, sports related, etc. - and if it interests people, they will respond. If it doesn't they won't.
