OK, the argument that Facebook is a private company that can reject and ban anybody it wants "because it is a private company" sounds like sound legal argument but the Biden administration may have just stepped on their dick, big time.


The White House just admitted that they are monitoring Facebook and making "recommendations" for Facebook to take down the posts the the government does not approve us.


If one is a skeptic, one might think that the government "asking" is actually the government telling and could create a legal argument, that this is government control of a private company.


No lawyer here, but this sounds like the Biden administration just admitted that they are exerting control over a private business.

The Biden administration is playing an active role in flagging Facebook posts it considers to be “problematic” or “disinformation,” according to White House press secretary Jen Psaki.
During a Thursday press conference, Psaki said White House senior staff were engaging with “social media platforms” to combat the spread of “misinformation specifically on the pandemic.”
“In terms of actions we are taking or that we’re working to take, I should say, from the federal government, we’ve increased disinformation research and tracking within the surgeon general’s office. We're flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation," she said.
Psaki added that the administration was also “working with doctors, medical professionals, and experts who are popular with their audiences” to get them “accurate information and boost trusted content.”
“We’re helping get trusted content out there,” she said. “We also created the COVID-19 community cord to get trusted information into the hands of local messengers.”
Psaki revealed that most of the anti-vaccine misinformation on social media platforms was originating from “12 people,” but she did not identify any people or pages.

Follow the rules and you won't get banned. Spreading lies and false information is against FB guidelines, so it's real simple don't do it. Trump kept doing it so he paid the price. A business has every right to run it as they see fit without the fascist conservatives forcing them to do something they don't want.

I find it funny how you guys look for encroaching steps of Socialism, constantly, while blasting the idea that the vaccine is good for the health of our Country. You do know the surge in cases and hospitalizations are near unanimously clustered in the non-vaccinated, right?

I remember Kamala Harris claiming that she wouldn't trust any vaccine that H I M put out.

Not sure how many people jumped on that bandwagon, but there was a push back against the vaccine because orange man bad. I can imagine that if H I M were still president, the potential adverse side effects of the vaccines, although still rare, would be heavily discussed.

All jokes aside, I personally believe YouTube and Facebook are wrong to ban people for misinformation or conspiracy theories. That's my opinion. I'm not going to be championing censorship no matter who or what is behind it. If The One Who is H I M were actively trying to censor people, I would not be supporting H I M.
