Day Drinking...everywhere.
Live music... any kind, any where. Nobody really likes Dixieland Jazz, but goddamnit, its actually enjoyable in this city.
For ZERO elevation, there is still some good nature here. To get the best, you DO have to leave the city.
There's nothing wrong with enjoying the shores of BSL or Biloxi without going all the way to Florida.

This will sound lame as fuck, but learn some history of the city when you can. There are TONS of great stories (creepy, funny, scandalous, shocking, etc) that make any area you're in vibrant.
