if Gates is as smart as you say don't you think he'd be smart enough to avoid such an entanglement in the first place? remember Gates was married during this alleged affair and still CEO. for a smart guy Gates did a stupid thing. remember than his soon to be ex-wife also worked for Microsoft for awhile. it wasn't a conflict either as neither were married at the time and she was not a direct report to Gates.



this woman probably didn't report to Gates either. but he was married by then, a scandal right there, and i'm sure Gates being CEO could certainly influence whoever this woman did report to .. think about it, you are a senior manager or director, and you know Gates is banging one of your programmers .. are you gonna deny her a raise or a promotion knowing that's going to get back to Gates?
