Floyd was handcuffed and sitting against the wall on the sidewalk before he was "released" to the officers who had to restrain him to get him into the vehicle for the trip to the jail/holding facility.

Rodney King was also handcuffed and compliant prior to being released by the SMALL female California Highway Patrol Officer to the local guys who beat the shit out of him when he began to resist.

Nothing was ever done to the SMALL female CHP officer for failing to protect her prisoner and NOTHING has been done (of which I am aware) to the officer who released his prisoner ... Floyd.

There is no logical/legal explanation as to why either prisoner was released and not protected by the arresting officers. And anyone who tries to provide one doesn't know what the fuck they are jabbering about.
