By all accounts, Taiwan has a extensive defense network set up to repel an invasion.

What would really bolster their defenses would be thermo nuclear weapons with the means to deliver them to major Chinese cities.

Make the cost so high that China would not dare.

There is no doubt in my mind that Biden will not provide those weapons and if China decides to invade, we will do absolutely nothing but say we "disapprove". and I can't say that I would go to war with China to protect Taiwan which we absolutely will not be able to do. If China wants it, they will take it. So be it. Just one more reason to start taking a very, very hard line on China but Joe would have to get Hunter's approval before risking all those millions coming in.

Currently the island building is part of pushing the UN 200 mile resources belong to xxx treaty. Think of the ocean fish stocks available, let alone any seabed minerals.
