Yay or Nay - Asking clients if they're married

So, I had an otherwise great encounter with a sensual masseuse not long ago. She was doing all the things right, looking absolutely stunning while exorcising the knots out of my muscles. Our running conversation was great...until she asked me if I was married.

If you know the sound of a record needle scraping across the vinyl followed by a silence loud enough to hear a pin drop, you know what I'm talking about...Moment of awkward silence. Although we got past that and had a pleasant time since that moment, it did cut into my enjoyment a little.

When I go in for a sensual massage or encounter, I like to think that part of the experience is leaving the stress-fest that is my reality at the door. When I go to an in-call, I liken it to stepping into a physically and emotionally separate fantasy world. I go so far as to turn off my cell phone and leave it in the car. I pay in cash and only use mobile pay apps connected to accounts I exclusively control. By asking that question, she broke the fourth wall.

Have you ever had this happen to you? If so, what was your reaction to that?

I'm especially interested in what the providers here on ECCIE think. Have you ever asked about marital status? If so, how did it impact your session? If not, why?

She probably was just trying to make small talk, but agree it's probably not the best question to ask...for many reasons!

A lot of times you can judge by conversation, with uses of words such as "we."

A wise man once told keep you hobby life separate from your private life.

If a provider asked me that question, I would probably turn the question back on her. Teller you are looking for a threesome, MFM, and ask her to bring her husband to participate.

I ask because i want to know if i can text thank you or hello from time to time... even tho i really dont lol. But i only ask just to see what kind of freedom they have and if their phone is being monitored. I dont ask all the time but when i do that is the reason. I don't give a shit of course so you shouldn't be uncomfortable with it. If "dating" in the Real World the question of whether either party is in a committed relationship is a legitimate issue. If they will lie to their partner, they will lie to you. For myself, I don't want to be that guy she has on the side.

Paradoxically and /or hypnotically; in the context of the Hobby World, we can assume that either or both parties are being, in some way, unfaithful to someone else. The question of marital status or any other form of commitment should not be part of the hobbiest/provider relationship.

For the time being, we are pretending that there is no one else in our lives . . . .that is the GFE session.

I get this question probably 50% of my encounters. I agree with OP that the reason I am there is to escape my RW if just for an hour or two. I fell they ask it just to make small talk, but wish they would think of something else.

WHY would they expect the truth??? I am a bit bothered by one response that indicates that phone numbers are retained for future use. Another argument for hobby phones.

I had one amp worker ask that question and when I answered no she asked if I wanted to marry her... Looking for a better situation I suppose

i most cetainly do save every single clients number in my phone. Just came very in handy for a guy writing fake reviews for free vip days... yea i saw him in 2017, but here is writing reviews for me in 2021!

Also great for tracking time wasters and no shows. They tend to come back around ever couple of years. I use google voice and i have text history all the way back from 2012!!!

I don't recall being asked, nor do I think I'd remember it more that a few minutes. From reading a lot of posts here, maybe I'm a selfish client, but I'm normally concentrating on other things when I'm with a provider, and mostly not the scintillating conversation.

When I wore a ring, I figured that precluded asking, but even since I've stopped wearing a ring, I don't recall it being a topic of conversation.

If anyone isn't using a burner/hobby phone, they're just asking for trouble, even if they don't have a SO/spouse.

Hi Mya!

That's actually a very responsible use of your clients' phone numbers. As so long as you restrict your usage of that data for business purposes, you're absolutely right on!

In this particular case, trust in the provider's professionalism would be absolutely key as part of assessing whether to engage in the transaction in the first place. I can tell you've thought this through, and clients like me appreciate that a LOT!

And, before I forget, I totally read the last line in your message in Naruto's voice. Dunno if that was intentional, but that's my brain betraying my underlying nerdishness.

In my experience if a guy wants to talk about any relationships, he will bring it up on his own. I ask about kids but not about marital status.
