The “Deficit” is something everybody has been talking about for decades, even longer.
But does anyone ever do anything about it? Not that I can ever remember.
That leaves me to believe that nobody really gives a shit. Hell, most Americans don’t even have a clue what it represents.
As long as the IPhone is charged, and Netflix is on, they are happy.

Although I voted against Bill Clinton twice, he was very successful in eliminating the deficit.

Clinton didn't eliminate it. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and a bunch of other technocrats did.

His last year we had a deficit. If you go back and look the deficit for 2000 was negative but then about 10 years ago the Bureau of Labor Statistics revised the number to positive. True story.
