It is spiking everywhere but it is disingenuous to rip the President Elect for being straight with the country that there are dark days ahead, because in fact there are. This is in contrast to his predecessor who lied constantly that everything is getting better, we've turned the corner, it's going away, no need to wear a mask, let's have super spreader public gatherings, etc.
This is the same strategy of denial that was used during the quagmire of Vietnam: Lie to the public that all is well when it was indeed going poorly. Yet 58,000 American military died in Vietnam in over a decade, while more than 300,000 Americans, innocent ones, have died since this pandemic hit the U.S. in February.
Operation Warp Speed is indeed a success story. That is true. But there will be tens of thousands more die, probably more than half a million, before it will be available to all well into 2021.
