That's very funny CT. I'm sure you don't understand what he just said dingbat so you'd better get your dictionary out.
On second thought dingy, never mind. Dictionary or not, you still won't understand a thing he just said.
I imagine whether you support a lock down or not has a lot to do with whether one of your loved ones is among the 250K people that have died from this virus.
I am on the fence about this and always have been. None of my loved ones have died from Covid but I do know several people that have been infected. Some had little or no problems from their infections.
But 3 of my close friends have had a very different experience. They are in no particular order, a man in his mid 30's, a woman in her early 40's and a man in his early 70's.
The first 2 both spent at least a couple weeks in the ER. They have both been "recovered" for quite some time now. However, both of them have persistent coughs and are always short of breath. I am starting to have serious doubts that these conditions will ever improve for them.
The 3rd is a retired physician who contracted the virus while attending the Big East basketball tourney at Madison Square Garden in March. He almost died from his infection.. He spent several weeks in the ICU on a ventilator and was in a coma for 6 days. When he came out he had to learn how to walk and talk all over again. He is still not the same as he was and probably never will be. To me he is now no different than a stroke patient that will never fully recover.
Cases like these make me understand why some are so in favor of a lock down. Personally I am still on the fence about this. I can see how it would curtail the spread of the virus and I can also see the economic damage a lock down would cause. FYI for all you naysayers, a lock down would not personally effect me economically in any way, shape or form.
So yeah I am totally undecided about whether we should have another lock down or not. But as far as a mask mandate goes, there is no fence to be sitting on at all. We definitely need one and we should have had one 9 or 10 months ago. But instead our dumb ass president turned mask wearing into a political statement and now we will never have one.
Save all your "masks don't work and a mandate would violate my precious personal freedom" bullshit. Neither of those arguments have any merit.
Is wearing a mask 100% effective. No, of course not. Does wearing a mask help to curb the spread? Yes. Is it part of the CDC's recommendation of social distancing, wearing a mask and washing your hands? Yes. Is it a big deal to put one on and wear it? Of course not. So shut the fuck up and wear your mask.
Save your this violates my personal freedom arguments. I am actually against laws requiring seat belt usage and wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle. Because you will only hurt yourself if you choose these irresponsible behaviors. Irresponsibly not wearing a mask means you may infect and hurt an innocent person. This is the big difference here. So practice social distancing, wash your hands often and WEAR YOUR FUCKING MASK ALL THE TIME.
Seriously, it isn't a difficult thing to do at all.
