There should double everyone student loan to fund government debt. Then allow student to sue the collage went and debt who can't pay it just bad bad collage for talking the stupid into debt I knew I was dumb so never borrow money college. I did get a a D in english. And caucus 2 was to hard.

student debt is a tri-pronged fault

the government

the colleges

then the students

as in a civil court where fault is assessed among several actors, my off the cuff assessment for the division of fault would be:

government - 60% for the easy money availability for the purpose of obtaining votes

colleges -40% for fraud and greed

students and their families - -0-, humble victims albeit some are more culpable for making slothful use of the funds

the students have been the victim of what is called "fraud in the inducement". the quality and worth of their education, the price gouging and the lure of easy money that goes to pay college administrator salaries, benefits and retirement benefits

as far as the government "forgiving" student debt, I say no just allow students to sue their colleges

and if forgiven, what about the guys who scrimped and saved and paid their way through school, are they due refunds? and how far back does that go, and with interest?

and then what about the guy who never went to college, but became a plumber and went into debt to get a truck and equipment? it would seem to be fair then to set up anyone in business debt free
