Default Connery, Sean Connery....dead at 90.

The best James Bond, though Daniel Craig is a close second, to perform on the silver screen. A fearless advocate for Scottish independence and a real man in an industry of fops. He will be missed especially on Celebrity Jeopardy.

I liked Sean Connery, but my Dad hated him. He apparently put his hands on women in a violent manner and my Dad was disgusted with him. He hated Jim Brown and OJ Simpson for the same reason. Unlike OJ, I don't recall Connery or Brown actually murdering anyone though.

I'm not really sure what a 90 year man dying though has to do with politics. I thought you were supposed to die before that age. I know I don't want to live that long. I'm not big on getting back to wearing diapers again. Just kill me and let me keep my dignity.

Sean Connery at 90: His views on Scotland, in his own words

https://www.thenational.scot/news/18...cotland-words/

Quote:
He took up bodybuilding and was a lifeguard, artist’s model and bouncer before he got a chance break as an extra in an Edinburgh theatre that led to him going on tour with South Pacific. During the tour the cast played an exhibition match with Manchester United and manager Sir Matt Busby was so impressed with Connery he offered him a trial. At the age of 23 Connery made his decision and stayed with the theatre.

Not that he was ever a drama college type, saying: “To cultivate an English accent is already a departure away from what you are.”

Neil Connery says Sir Sean staying away for tax reasons

http://www.deadlinenews.co.uk/2014/0...r-tax-reasons/

Quote:
Asked about the whereabouts of his brother so close to the vote, he replied: “There’s only a certain amount of days Sean can be in the country for tax reasons, so I know that he intends to use them wisely.”

He was then asked if his brother’s health was part of the reason for his absence from the campaign trail.

Neil laughed and replied: “No he’s just fine.

“Last I heard from him he was in New York.

“He’s probably in better health than me!”

He added: “He’s got a lot on his plate at the moment.”

The Yes campaign flatly refused to comment on Neil Connery’s comments.

But an insider suggested the 84-year-old star’s non-appearance was nothing to do with his tax status.

“It is our understanding that it is to do with ill health and he’s an old man.

You wanted to know what Connery had to do with politics, above is your answer. Though Connery once said that he would not move back to Scotland until it was free from English rule. Unlike many fake Hollywood types, he kept that promise and died in the Bahamas.

when I was 8 I snuck into the movie theatre 9 times to watch darby o'gill and the little people

yeah I'd just wait for a family with kids to show up and id just join in with them when they entered to give their tickets to the ticket taker right inside the doors and then off I'd go on my own

sean was in darby o'gill, I didn't know of him then but I loved him and janet munro and darby and the leprechauns, one happy family with a lovable rapscallion dad

later I saw dr, no at a drive in theatre I'd walk to and they let us in free

bond, james bond

later still a friend of mine had a gym id work out at, he was an older guy who put on body building contests, knew Arnold and he had known sean way back when he was tom connery

a week or so ago, goldfinger was on tv, I watched a bit of it and commented to someone how sharp sean looked in the suits he wore in the 60's that stood up even today

he was perfect as james bond

My respects to Sean Connery.

One of the Greatest Actors of our generation !!

He has an un-challenged body of work and deserves respect.

I also don't feel he was properly paid for his work in establishing the James Bond franchise and that the Broccoli's took advantage of him.

Hard to believe his portrayal in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" was 30 years ago.

About once a year I watch "The Man Who Would Be King." Great movie.
