It's just business. Zuckerberg had been cozying up to Trump. He sees the writing on the walls, who's going to come out on top next month, so now he's cozying up to Democrats. And if that means censoring Republicans so be it. I imagine he'd rather not censor anyone, as he has to pay people to do that and he's going to antagonize some Facebook users regardless of how he does it. But there are political considerations. If a Democratic Congress and president want to make life difficult for Facebook, they can. Using existing or new antitrust laws to break the company up comes to mind.

I think their support for Democrats is going to backfire. When they cash in their stock, they'll be paying 56.7% tax (Federal + California) when Biden jacks up the long term capital gains tax.

Zuckerberg has eaten dinner with Trump and met with him on a couple of other occasions. Some others in Silicon Valley weren't as hospitable. And until recently Facebook hasn't gone to the extent of other social media platforms to favor the left at the expense of Trump:
