Just message them. Most of them claim to have an elaborate screening procedure, but they will either see you no questions asked, or they will pretend they got a hold of your reference and see you anyway. Once you see one who pretends to screen clients, you can use that provider as a reference for the decent (for what’s decent around here) ones who actually screen.

Why didn't you just go to the hotel lobby and speak with the manager? Management doesn't care if you are there for a booty call, just for the care and welfare of all guests. Tell them that this woman is running a service from her room and then she ripped you off and threatened bodily harm. Now the problem is in the manager's hands and most likely LE will be called in and they at the very least would be booted from their room without a refund. Payback. Just don't be a dumb ass and wait for the police to arrive and file a report, or you will be sitting next to them in jail. Once management is aware of the problem, they keep an eye on the room and usually call in the cops to get rid of the problem. Best bet is to supply your own room.
