Another reason a provider might change names is if she started with an agency and her name was chosen for her. She goes independent and wants to Change her name to reflect that.

As for the original topic, most providers change their name in order to run away from the old one. You can imagine all of the scenarios why that would be necessary. The more professional ones do it as a marketing gimmick. Always a good idea to refresh your brand every several years.

I can remember several well-liked providers who kept their first and original and Only handles through their whole hobby-runs. They never got in relevant trouble on the boards, always had "regular clients", many of them could go UTR and not have anything to do with the boards. In fact solid providers "pick and choose" clients, not the other way around. They can "pick and choose" clients because they have the consistent "market demand", and no matter what their hobby-handle is....

That being said- providers are at higher risk of being "outed" in real-life and they sometimes have to Dispatch their online associations of a hobby "handle" quick. Providers also sometimes acquire Stalkers and Weird Hobbyists who monitor all their hobby-behavior. Plenty of reasons for providers to quickly Lose their hobby-handles. It's not always about their popularity or if they screwed up in some way. And, sure, many of them DO want to "re-brand" after they screw-up in some way....

I had ATF's who kept the same hobby-names their whole hobby-runs. And I had ATF's who changed their-names specifically because of "outing" risks in their private lives. All of them Performed...Excellently with varied hobby-names so I kept doing business with them.....

If any provider ever wants to "re-brand" her image she should return to the scene offering More....Rare.....Services than she did before. Sound like satire? Indeed- More Rare Services = Better.....Personality with varied providers. This is all Industry Standard, folks.....

I haven’t been playing because of the pandemic so I missed this. I have wondered the same thing about changing names. I made up Klassygerl in 2 seconds trying to sign on to seeking arrangements just to see if the site is real... never thinking I would be a full time provider. Not in a million years.

I didn’t want to lose my good reviews etc. on Indy‘s but I was getting sick of people asking me... what can I call you klassy? I wanted a somewhat real name that I could be called. I do not have any bad reviews that I’m aware of. Winter is close to my real name and Inez means Agnes in Portuguese.

I don’t plan on changing again but I’m sure providers have many reasons for wanting to change names. I have personally been threatened with bad reviews after refusing to see people but I would never change my name because of that.
