According to another comment someone made, she changed her number because of all the texts she was getting. Seems to want to make initial contact only via SA.
You have to be a paid member of SA to message people. They drop some kind of hint that you can "communicate with other members" by adding a pic to your profile, but I'm not sure if there are any limitations with that (such as a maximum number of messages, or if you can just send messages but not read responses if you just post a picture - certainly before they instituted the profile pic thing, you had to be a paid member both to send messages to others, or to read messages sent to you).
