Now, Now, that's certainly not in line with the kinder, gentler political forum that mods are working on.

Are you alluding to being intimately familiar with the mother of one of our members to know what is on their nightstand?

He engages in kindergarten "intellect" .... if you examine any of his posts in any forum they are no more than hot, stinky air ...

...zero substance!!

Hey, Einstein. Your link doesn't work. I guess there's nothing there that would be "worthless" after all, huh? Get it right, junior, you're embarrassing yourself.

No, by deciding to put in border in place and other social distancing measures, Trump has saved between 3-6 million lives so far. If Trump had decided not to do any social distancing measures and went for "Hurd Immunity", 100 million to 200 plus million would have become infected with cv19. Three to six million people would have died. Going for "Hurd Immunity" would not have killed 300 million people, just 3 to 6 million. The death rate for CV19 is higher than that of SARS. The death rate for SARS is approx. .3%.
See the link by the professor from Stanford, Ioannidis.

Fauci said around 2 million people would die if nothing was done.

Trump failed to contain the virus and the economy is reopening, so we should see the number of cases and deaths per day begin to rise.

The virus originated in China, but China seems to have contained it. However, Trump failed to contain it. It probably came here from US citizens returning from China. Action was not taken to ensure it was contained during that time, which was in January and February. Instead, the virus was politicized. Trump can try to blame China, but China did not let the virus spread to millions of people in the United States.

All he had to do was lock down for one month in January or early February and it most likely would have been contained, and by now, we'd probably see a totally different reality.

McDonald fucked up, and it may have been an honest mistake, but he'll never own up to it. Instead, he will stubbornly continue to act as though the virus is not a threat while the economy and his reputation tanks.

a - it is "Herd Immunity" - but I will give you a typo.

Generally you are correct - but the Wuhan virus case mortality rate is likely less than the SARS virus - when on include a very large, but as yet impossible to determine accurately denominator of asymptomatic and minimally symptomatic wuhan virus cases.

I put Ioaniddis article on site months ago.

Thank You for referencing him - he was far more accurate than the "models" of millions of deaths used to shut us down.

Fauci also said it wasn't a big deal for the US. in January. was he wrong then or right now?

Yes China DID let the virus spread to the World. they FAILED to inform anyone of the issue and continued to allow international travel. recall every Democrats and his brother Creepy Joe Biden called Trump a xenophobe and racist when he banned travel from China and later the EU.

if you believe China contained the virus internally with less than 10,000 deaths then you are being fooled. China is known for vastly downplaying these numbers. on this link they only "claim" 4,633. i have seen "revised" numbers close to 8,000.

not even close. some international media say their local sources and evidence show more like 40,000 in Wuhan alone.

blaming Trump for not acting is false to begin with but do your self a fav and don't believe any ChimCom propaganda about how they "contained" anything.

allowing that any early data from China is flawed there is not pandemic yet. if China had reported this sooner Trump would have acted sooner but to say Trump was late to act based on known data and Fauci were saying is false. in fact Trump was right and Fauci wrong and Trump acted anyway.

We all know Trump banned travel coming from China in January. I wouldn't be surprised if he made that his next campaign slogan. I've heard him say it about 10 thousand times.

I've been periodically checking the stats, and I was really surprised by this week. Let's hope the downward trend continues.

Trump disappointed me with how he handled this crisis. He politicized it and turned it into a democrat versus republican debate.

Who else do we have to blame for Trump not acting? He wasn't taking it seriously at the beginning and continues to downplay it. I know he banned travel coming from China in January, but that was not enough. He should have taken it more seriously. That's easy to say in hindsight, but he continues to downplay the threat.

He is not showing the kind of leadership I expected from him during a crisis like this. He even canceled the daily briefings because the media was "mean." He said some of the dumbest things I've ever heard him say during those briefings, but I still would rather have them than nothing.

He will just continue to lie and repeat these weird salesman-like predictions: "It might not ever come back," "Next year is going to be our best yet," "We're gonna bounce back like never before."

I thought this tragedy was Trump's opportunity to show the world that he's really putting America first, but he didn't. Instead, he politicized it, downplayed it, didn't take responsibility, tried to address the people but ended up just ranting and he continuously stretched the truth.

He's trying to have it both ways right now. That's why he continuously gives inconsistent information about the virus. He will say "This thing is serious. No one is taking it more seriously than me." but at the same time he will act as though it's not a big deal. That kind of mixed messaging is off-putting.

I think the majority of people want him to take a stand on this and treat it seriously and share with us some kind of long term plan, but he won't ever do that because that means admitting he was wrong.
