Is Xanax still receiving active updates? I might try it on a FireCube. I find it difficult to pick the right build. Whenever I install one that looks promising and spend the time tweaking the preferences, it gets abandoned right around the time I start getting used to it.

That's the beauty of Xanax build. Every time you open it, an auto scan begins updating itself and your add-ons. Just wait a minute or two for it to finish, no big deal. Started out with 18.5, now have 18.6 Kodi all done automatically. No tweaking needed.

The big problem with Kodi is it is bleeding edge technology, subject to frequent software, app and add-on updates. If updated properly Kodi runs better. If not you have problems and conflict issues where things no longer work that did before.

Unless there's a documented incompatibility for the build , I always keep Kodi up to date. I like having multiple Fire devices for testing builds,. The price is.right. I would.like to eventually upgrade to the Nvidia Shield Pro. It seems to be the best out there, and less workarounds than Amazon devices. I've been saying I'm going to do that for 2-years. Lol. Being thrifty holding me back.

Xanaxv build auto updates very nicely, one less thing to fret over.

Fire devices use slow CPUs and only give ~6GBs of free space to add apps. Firestick devices have problems when you load extra apps up and have <1GB free space available. Always make sure you have 1-2GBs free to keep it from bogging down and becoming unresponsive.

Better off testing builds on an old laptop or PC with more power.

Nvidia Shield Pro is top rated but pricey. Am not a gamer so have no interest in them.

However would rather get and play with a Raspberry Pi 4 4GB RAM Starter Kit for about $100.
Raspberry Pi 4 4GB RAM, is quite versatile and plays 4K video. About the size of a pack of ciggs and can be used as a desktop pc, if you have an old monitor and keyboard laying around. Also can be easily hooked up to a 4K HDTV turning it into a Big Screen PC monitor playing 4K but you will need a wireless mouse and keyboard. Raspberry Pi 4 4GB is a quad core and has more power than Fire devices.
