Isn’t it time fo Pennsylvania........
To get out of the liquor business???? It’s archaic and stupid. I took a drive to Weirton to stock up on some booze, they carded me, not for age, but what State I was from. I was declined entrance. 3 county’s bordering Pa won’t let you buy some Whiskey during this covid thing. They instructed me to go to Kroger’s in Steubenville. I said cool, it’s across the river. No biggie. I get there, it’s a big store. I walk in and the line was wrapped half way around the store. The ladie tending the line told me to go to Wintersville store 5 miles up the road. I figured, I came this far, what’s another couple miles. I get there and wheel my cart right into the liquor store. Bingo!!!! I’m all good.
Why in the fucking world are we the only state that controls liquor distribution? I know the answer. But it has to end. It’s a nuisance, not a convenience.

That would be “ competition”. The prices in WV and Ohio are comparable. But there may be more choices, better service, and better merchandising. There may be examples of special discounts from different stores. Sorta like Home Depot/Lowe’s.

Hey buddy, I make mistakes too. But I post from my IPhone, usually when I’m busy. And I have big hands. So spell check interprets what I’m trying to say but fucks it up. When I have time, I proof read my posts. But I think you mangle things because you don’t know it. Look, I encourage you to post more and be a productive hobbyist here. Don’t pick fights you can’t win. I didn’t seek you out. But hey, I’m willing to move on. Capisce?

I can go to WV and fill up cheaper than here without my Giant Eagle points. Tobacco too. Liquor prices are close tho. PA has the worse roads in the country. What are we getting for the high fuel taxes?
BTW, WTF is J Lo Sunday?

PA is not the only state to control liquor sales. Connecticut and North Carolina both have state liquor stores, but not wine. NC has ABC stores that are privately owned franchises, but controlled by the state. I'm fairly certain there are a couple other states too.
That said, it still sucks. If anyone has ever been in a Total Wine store in Florida, they have been to the drinking class's nirvana. The stores are humongous and stocked to the gills with everything imaginable at prices 25-35% less than PA.

Its definitely time for a change in PA. There has been some movement with beer and wine sales in grocery and C-stores. Maybe that's the camel's nose under the tent, but I don't see liquor sales being opened up any time soon.

WV is checking if your a WV resident in the Morgantown area.
You can buy alcohol online from the Pa website. The website has crashed do to not being able to take care of the demand. Only three stores are being used for online sales. Wolf feels why pay someone to work when they can be paid to stay home, the benefit of government employment
Please dont give me the social distance line. One person could work out of each store and ship online sales. I work by myself everyday why can't a government employee.
If I'm not mistaken isn't the post office and UPS still open and delivering.
Something similar for Wolf. He used what he thought was great vision by shutting down the rest areas.
Yes he shut down the support for the supply chain of the Truckers. They can just go along the road, can get fuel and food in another state.

The post office is actually taking applications for temporary employment because of the high demand for shipping items now instead of buying in person. So they're handling things differently.
As for alcohol, I stocked up right before they shut down so I haven't needed to get more.
PA isn't likely to give up control of the taxes on liquor anytime soon.
