my current wonder is this:
will the leftist news media cut away from their tv coverage of biden's acceptance speech at the dim convention should he falter?
that thought has just made me think of something, an occurrence where the media did cut away and then acted as if nothing was amiss.
and I may be the only person who remembers this, and try as one might, there is scant to NO reference to this fact to be found , but I bear witness to it and I know its veracity:
this story concerns barbara walters and diana ross
one early morning in 1972, I believe it was, diana ross was on the today show, to be interviewed by barbara walters
the occasion was her first movie, perhaps her only movie, I don't know, lady sings the blues, you may recall it, she plays billie holliday and her co-star was billy d. williams
now if you recall, diana was married to a white man
they hyped the interview all morning
finally it started
barbara and diana sat comfortably across from each other
barbara began with these fateful words and they are near verbatim, even after these many years since,
"now diana, now that you have it all, you've had a great singing career, you have a white husband, and you now have made a movie"
diana's jaw dropped, before she could say a word, nbc cut away to a commercial, and when they came back the chairs were gone, barbara was gone, and most certainly diana was gone and the set was a desk and the news was being read
