Something very strange happened to me the past few of nights. I was wondering if it had happened to anyone else.

A fellow who had been trying to get an appointment with me for about a year was traveling from Saint Louis to Branson and wanted to stop off to see me. During our texting he had gotten a picture of a girl scantly dressed of which he thought I sent. It wasn't till later that he noticed it was a different phone number. He asked me if I had sent the picture. I assured him I did not. I asked him if he had contacted any other girls ar all and he assured me he had not. I passed it off as coincidence.

The next night I had a new client and had casually mentioned the incident to him. He said something similar had also happened to him that night while texting me. Only in the middle of our texting he got a picture of a provider that he had actually seen about a year previous. He assured me that he did not contact her at all because he wanted the appointment with me.

My question is to our IT guys or anyone else who has maybe had a situation like this, is there a spy Ware out there where desperate providers are interrupting texts to steal clients?

With the 1st guy I thought it was possible LE trying to mislead him to get him. But then when that happened to the 2nd fellow I don't think that's the situation now.

If anyone has any advice or experience with this please share.

some of the text apps that you can download to your phone also have a web page that you can read the messages and see the phone numbers. Some you can use the web page as the app and text and make phone calls from. Most of these are not secured and can be easy to hack. If you are using an app get very creative with your password. dont use a word as password but maybe a phrase. example like "Raven Super Sexy Massages Rub You Later Gator" use the first letter of every word so your password would be "RSSMRYLG#1" or you can even do the letters in reverse order.

Someone could have also cloned your phone.

If you go into the bathroom to wash your hands or something; it can be done with the right device in under a minute.

Which means that every text that all of the activity to and from your phone will show up on the cloned phone.

A situation somewhat like this happened to me a few months back. I had just received a new number through my carrier. Incoming/outgoing calls went through perfect, my outgoing texts texts sent perfect, however my incoming text were not as I found out only because of a friend of mine asked why I wasnt responding to his texts. We send each other a lot of shit/jokes/anything. One day "I" responded back to him saying "quit sending me all of this stuff, or, I'm going to call the police". He just thought I was in a bad mood or whatnot. Turns out, all of my incoming texts were going to the person who had previously had my number. The dude was gracious enough to tell my buddy that He didn't have a phone plan and was using Wi-Fi only, but, he was getting tons of texts that should have come to me. My friend apologized and thankfully let me know. Freaked me out and when I called my carrier and let them know about the issue, they said they had never heard of such a thing happening, however let me change my number again, free of charge. I don't know how it happened, nor does the carrier, but, I can say first hand that it happened to me. After I changed my number, no issues whatsoever. But, there are a lot of people out there that are a lot more tech savvy than me and anything in the digital age is possible to being corrupted.

Do you have an iPhone by chance? It could be an iMessage bug.

No, I've had an android forever. But, from what my buddy was able to get out of the other guy, he had an iPhone. (I never spoke to him.) I have no idea how it was able to happen, and hasn't since I've recieved my new number. Just a crazy happening of events, that I was luckily able to find out about.

This isn’t a thing. Unless someone has had physical access to your phone, you aren’t getting “hacked”. Even if someone phished your texting app password or iCloud password they aren’t going to do anything like this with your account.
So here are the most likely scenarios:
It was a coincidence, user error, or the “two people” telling you this are the same person.

Which requires physical access or very close proximity (with ridiculously expensive equipment).
If someone has the knowledge to do this to you, they aren’t going to be doing it so they can send random text messages to unknown contacts of people in your phone.

So again, It was a coincidence, user error, or the “two people” telling you this are the same person. Either that or you have a super phone hacker that just by happenstance targeted a provider and then text two “different” people weird nonsensical texts.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it's likely.

But having done work in this type of field, I can tell you that it can be done in under a minute. Which would be more than enough time while someone is using the restroom perhaps.

I agree that Occam's Razor would suggest that you are correct, it is most likely some type of coincidence.
