Eateries and Entertainment
Hey everyone 👋
Traveling through Binghamton/JC/Vestal and making a pit stop in the area soon.
Suggestions as I am interested in some options for dining and/or gaming establishments.
Is the planetarium still open?
Thanks in advance

Yeah bars aren't really my scene and neither is wasting my time being awake all hours of the night.
I'm searching for the more reputable local establishments...
NOT the well known corporations that "EVERYONE" including PM's mother have visited. I know there is a nice little gaming arcade in the area . Rare finds are harder to find and are well worth the time spent ISO.

Tioga Downs. Nice little casino just down the road from Binghamton. Try and win back some of the money I left there.

People always suggest the usual local landmarks, but for something different maybe the Oaks Inn, it is possibly the best Italian food in the area and a classic local joint. Also Antonio's down the street for a gelato cocktail dessert.

Local things to do that are a bit off the beaten path?
Vintageness is a high end consignment shop in Vestal with mid-ranged items all the way up to Chanel & Louboutins
Tom’s Gifts is a unique gift shop, Front St Binghamton
Learn how to fly high at Goodrich Aviation Development
Contact me privately to hear about my go-to girl for Spa Services. If you didn’t have time to make an appointment, go to VIP Nail in Vestal
Everyone rants about Number 5 (myself included), but the owner has another high end establishment in town, Lampy’s in Endicott.
For great pizza with a very thin crust, go to Bud’s in Apalachin. While you’re there, get ice cream at the Big Dipper
Go to Binghamton’s “speakeasy”, 205 Dry. It’s got a discreet entrance with no sign or indication that there would be anything inside. Right next to Social on State
Go get some of the best chicken soup at Phil’s Chicken House in Endicott. A mile down the road is the Cider Mill to get fresh hot doughnuts & ice cold Cider Slushy for dessert.
Owego has great downtown area for a small town. Be sure to hit up Carol’s Coffee & Art bar. They have live music 4ish afternoons a week. Great desserts. The owner is an artist so check out her pieces covering every square inch of the walls.
Right next door to the Coffee Shop is The Goat Boy. Lilly’s Loft is down the road and has great clothes. Be sure to stop at the Cellar for dinner. Stop at the Riverrow Book Store. A relatively small section for new books, huge section for used books, and tons of books relating to Upstate NY.
Stop at Fuddy Duddy’s to stock up on candy, truffles, cookies, and other fresh treats. They’re known for their massive gourmet apples that are covered custom w items like peanuts, m&ms, caramel, coconut, etc. Cover the small but scenic River Walk while downtown. If you are looking to see Owego & surrounding area from above, drive to the top of Evergreen Cemetary for a picturesque view.
If you’re looking to burn off a few calories in Owego, visit the Pilates Studio or 4 Seasons (I especially recommend the spinning class & yopi - which is part yoga and part Pilates.
The Vestal Farmers is Wed & Sat. Small, but fresh. If you want a farmers market on a much bigger & diverse level, visit the one in Ithaca
Alpacalachin is Alpaca Farm in Apalachin. Call ahead and Jen will give you a free tour and let you meet the animals. Be sure to visit their store which sells items made on the farm. The men in my family looooove the thick alpaca socks for the Winter months
The Binghamton Ross Park Zoo is small, but offers a good walk among sloped blacktop. This Sunday Visitor Appreciation Day so admittance is free. If you’re here Saturday, they’re offering goat yoga
This Sunday is Harvest Fest, held at Binghamton’s Otsinango Park
This Tuesday the forum is hosting a unique The Office paradoxical musical. Tickets sometimes sell out at the Forum so order in advance
This year is the first year for the Slaughterland Scream Park to host Halloween themed entertainment for adults
If you like hockey, the Binghamton Devils are playing Utica this week at the arena
The Piano Bar is playing at Lost Dog Cafe tomorrow
This weekend is RoberCon, a small geek convention
Should find a few things of interest on this list
