Very true oeb. If you look at the way her tax plan is structured, she and her husband wouldn't have to pay higher taxes. She's levying the high rates on people whose wealth and income brackets are a bit higher than hers. And the national debt would go sky high because the the people she's taxing don't make enough to fund everything she wants to do.
This reminds me of John Kerry. Back at a time he was proposing higher tax rates, the Wall Street Journal editorial page somehow got hold of the tax returns or financial statements of him and his billionaire wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry. I suspect there are a few people around here, like ex CEO, or business owners like Jackie and Friendly Fred, who paid higher taxes than the billionaire Kerry's in some years. The Kerry's had the bulk of their wealth invested in tax free municipal bonds, so got off pretty much Scot free. What did Leona Helmsley say, only the little people pay taxes? Well there are some Democratic politicians out there with similar views.
