As I posted before, many retired/disabled people in this country rely almost solely on Social Security for their income. If you are not depending on it, congratulations. How much money you will get back is yet to be determined.

Social Security has been in existence since 1935 and has been a blessing to almost all. That's almost 85 years. To me it is not "crumbs". The additional money I am receiving from the 2017 Tax Reform bill is crumbs compared to what I am getting in Social Security payments each month.

Like the minimum wage, Social Security is not meant to be a "living wage"....those who see it that way do so at their own peril....it was meant to limit unforeseen and unprepared-for dangers in modern life...a different form of insurance so to speak....but definitely not an end all and be all for old age or retirement.
