I respect Tryst for doing their part to fight racism. I really do. However, I wonder, is this the most effective way of doing so?

Tryst is not getting rid of racism, it's merely driving it underground. Tryst is just demanding that all providers in it's platform not write "No AAs" or "No Latinos" in their advertisements, updates, bio pages etc. Basically any type of racial discriminatory language is not allowed.

However even Tryst acknowledges that the lady with the "No AA" policy will then just mention it during screening. She's not going to stop her "No AA" policy because of Tryst. In fact, it will be a lot more time consuming and frustrating for black and other nonwhite guys. The black guy won't know that she has a "no AA" policy because Tryst doesn't allow that to be mentioned anywhere in her profile. So he contacts her, sends her all his info, references etc. and then finds out she won't see him because he's black. So he's just wasted all this time and energy. If "No AA" was just mentioned in the ad, it would have been a lot easier for him.

Now what Tryst is trying to do will work if all the providers who don't see certain types of nonwhite men just leave Tryst, which means only providers who see ALL men will be left behind in Tryst. However we all know that won't happen. The No AA providers are eager to make money just like all providers and will continue to stay in the Tryst platform so they can post ads, promote themselves, and secure more business using a free popular international escort platform.

I'm not bashing Tryst but I think they made a mistake here.

If she's interested...she answers...if not...she doesn't or says she doesn't think they are a match. That takes less than a minute on each side.

If the only way a girl is avoiding seeing black guys (or whomever she is avoiding) is by posting No AA in her ad, all that tells me is that she isn't doing much screening, if any at all.

Most “No AA” providers always ask “Age? Ethnicity?”, as a follow up to the initial inquiry anyways. I just hate racist people hiding behind the fallacious “it’s just my preference” argument. They should feel ostracized and ashamed, and I hope you can report these racist cunts to Tryst and get their ads removed one day.

I’ve had providers who advertise “No AA” message me and respond to ISO I used to post. I’ve had one even say “I heard you were cool” when I bring up I’m black and they don’t see black guys. I always pass on them tho.

Tryst simply wants to drive racist rhetoric underground & out of sight from their platform. Plain and simple.

Providers are free to mention their own business rules, standards & such during screening and elsewhere, but not openly on Tryst.

yes, and it's important that Tryst acknowledges this since they know they can't control all the different standards, rules,
etc. that every provider has for their own business

however, Tryst can control how providers advertise their business overall on their website by enforcing their own
terms, guidelines, etc.

Tryst simply wants their venue to represent an 'inclusive community' that represents all races & demographics
with no intent to exclude, discriminate, etc. against anyone using or browsing their website...

Phoenixx, thank you for clarifying. When you put it that way, it does make sense to me and I respect Tryst for their efforts to tackle discrimination.

I just thought that while it's supposed to improve the Tryst experience for nonwhite men, it makes it a bit more difficult & time-consuming for them too. Instead of just quickly ignoring all the providers with "No AA" ads, the nonwhite hobbyist now has to message each one, wait for them to reply (which could take several days), and then at some point receive a rejection message from the provider stating that she doesn't see black guys (which maybe even more cruel than just seeing "no AA" in an ad). However, perhaps this is the price we have to pay so that discriminatory language is removed from Tryst and if so, I get it.

I wonder if a more efficient policy would be for Tryst to just not allow providers with discriminatory policies to become a Tryst member? Since Tryst is so intent on removing discriminatory language, why not remove the root cause of the discriminatory language? The providers who do have discriminatory policies can continue to use ECCIE, P411, OH2 etc. and just avoid Tryst.

Also, I'm a tad skeptical as to whether driving racism underground is the best policy. When it's out in the open, it can be addressed and tackled. When it's underground, how can anyone tackle it or control it?

Anyway, I don't want to turn this into a debate. There will be flaws and negatives to every action that anyone does and I respect Tryst for doing what they thought best in a very difficult scenario.
