Mueller's report looks bad for Odumbo
(CNN)The partisan warfare over the Mueller report will rage, but one thing cannot be denied: Former President Odumbo looks just plain bad. On his watch, the Russians meddled in our democracy while his administration did nothing about it.
The Mueller report flatly states that Russia began interfering in American democracy in 2014. Over the next couple of years, the effort blossomed into a robust attempt to interfere in our 2016 presidential election. The Odumbo administration knew this was going on and yet did nothing. In 2016, Odumbo's National Security Adviser Susan Rice told her staff to "stand down" and "knock it off" as they drew up plans to "strike back" against the Russians, according to an account from Michael Isikoff and David Corn in their book "Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin's War on America and the Election of Donald Trump".
Why did Odumbo go soft on Russia? My opinion is that it was because Odumbo was singularly focused on the nuclear deal with Iran. Odumbo wanted Putin in the deal, and to stand up to him on election interference would have, in Odumbo's estimation, upset that negotiation. This turned out to be a disastrous policy decision.
Odumbo's supporters claim he did stand up to Russia by deploying sanctions after the election to punish them for their actions. But, Odumbo, according to the Washington Post, "approved a modest package... with economic sanctions so narrowly targeted that even those who helped design them describe their impact as largely symbolic." In other words, a toothless response to a serious incursion.
But don't just take my word for it that Odumbo failed. Congressman Adam Schitty, who disgraced himself in this process by claiming collusion when Mueller found that none exists, once said that "the Odumbo administration should have done a lot more." The Washington Post reported that a senior Odumbo administration official said they "sort of choked" in failing to stop the Russian government's brazen activities. And Odumbo's ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul, said, "The punishment did not fit the crime" about the weak sanctions rolled out after the 2016 election.
A legitimate question Republicans are asking is whether the potential "collusion" narrative was invented to cover up the Odumbo administration's failures. Two years have been spent fomenting the idea that Russia only interfered because it had a willing, colluding partner: Trump. Now that Mueller has popped that balloon, we must ask why this collusion narrative was invented in the first place.
Given Odumbo's record on Russia, one operating theory is that his people needed a smokescreen to obscure just how wrong they were. They've blamed Trump. They've even blamed Mitch McConnell, in some twisted attempt to deflect blame to another branch of government. Joe Biden once claimed McConnell refused to sign a letter condemning the Russians during the 2016 election. But McConnell's office counters that the White House asked him to sign a letter urging state electors to accept federal help in securing local elections -- and he did.
I guess if I had failed to stop Russia from marching into Crimea, making a mess in Syria, and hacking our democracy I'd be looking to blame someone else, too.
But the Mueller report makes it clear that the Russian interference failure was Odumbo's alone. He was the commander-in-chief when all of this happened. In 2010, he and Eric Holder, his Attorney General, declined to prosecute Julian Assange, who then went on to help Russia hack the Democratic National Committee's emails in 2016. Odumbo arguably chose to prioritize his relationship with Putin vis-à-vis Iran over pushing back against Russian election interference that had been going on for at least two years.
If you consider Russian election interference a crisis for our democracy, then you cannot read the Mueller report, adding it to the available public evidence, and conclude anything other than Barack Odumbo spectacularly failed America. Subsequent investigations of this matter should explore how and why Odumbo's White House failed, and whether they invented the collusion narrative to cover up those failures.

No kidding. When Donny Jr and the team Trump met with the Russians in Trump tower they realized there is no need to help the Russians, they are already working on our objective. What did Muller say in his report? same team with the same objective.
No collusion, but there is plenty of Obstruction, just ask judge Napolitano of Fox news.
Note: collusion is not a legal term. Team trump did not help the Russians bring harm to Hillary's campaign, they just remained silent and watched. At a minimum it looks like Trump has a problem with the "Stupid Sh*t" that Trump requested McGhan to do. We'll just have to see how it plays out.

Barr was acting like Trump's attorney instead of the Attorney General. Barr and Rudy G could start their own firm. They could call it B & G attorneys at law specializing in criminal defense for sitting presidents.
Napolitano started out at Fox as a guest contributor. Fox thought enough of him to give him his own show. Last I checked, he is still there. The DOJ can't prevent or stop congress from starting the impeachment process. We'll see if Pelosi and Nadler can build a strong case. They have 10 examples to work with.

Generally, I would inquire of you as to whose attorney you are pretending to be, but since you haven't read the entire Mueller report then your opinion as anyone's attorney is worthless. Barr has read it, and understands it.
Actually Barr is the Attorney General of the United States and is accepting that responsibility based on what is in the best interests of the CITIZENS of the United States. If that is also in the best interests of the President of the United States then that's a good thing.
I won't embarrass you by asking your "opinion" of Eric and Loretta.

To adav8s28
Bottom Line - the Mueller report is irrelevant.
Pelosi and the DPST House can and will vote Impeachment if they choose Politcally
It is a Political Act - the DPST's are terrified of taking the Impeachment step without a firm reason other than "Trump Breathes" due to concerns the action might backlash on the 2020 elections.
Senate conviction, unless the DPST's come with a substantive "misdemeanor or high crime" is extremely Unlikely.
Play Joe Mccarthy along with Schiff and Nadler all you want - with all the "Evidence" in Hand.
Bring "The Evidence" to the House in open debate and bring it to a Vote - yea or nay for Impeachment. Anything else is simply Ignoring the real work of governance of our nation on the basis of intractable Hate for Trump by the DPST's.

Is that why Barr got that "snitty" letter from Mueller that was critical of his analysis.

Team Hillary ignored a judge's evidence preservation order. In case ya'll didn't notice AG Barr issued a letter recently that also ordered all the Special Council evidence preserved.
Tick Tock!:

Barr did as good of job of representing Trump as Rudy G did. Rudy G. should share some of his retainer fees with Barr.
