Thailand or Costa Rica

Looking to go on a 'hobby' vacation somewhere outside the states. I'm going mainly for the hobby but some touristy things might be fun too.

I went to Pattaya a long time ago, back in the early 2000's. I've never been to Costa Rica. As far as I can tell, here's the pluses and minuses.

Thailand:

1. Escort sites with photos and reviews, like the states.
2. The hobby scene is a little more out in the open in Thailand, especially places like Pattaya.
3. More girls to choose from.
4. I'm more partial to Asian girls that Latina girls.
5. Cheaper prices

Costa Rica:

1. Closer (12 hours round trip flight vs 48 round trip flight to Thailand)
2. Easier to learn Spanish for conversation than learning Thai
3. Flights are cheaper.
4. I've never been there, so it's a destination to check off the list.

Anyone been to both? Any advice? Which place is better outside of the hobby? I'm a single white guy, planning to go for my 40th birthday by myself if that makes a difference. If anyone has any other destination suggestions I'm all ears.

That was my first idea, but then I realized that for the price of an overnight in Dallas I could be surrounded by women for the entire week in Thailand or Costa Rica.

I know, was just being facetious, so, if I had the money, which I never will, I would choose Bangkok, greater distance be damned and not just for the girls but for the Thai T girls as well! Thailand’s famed Ladyboys!

I would do Thailand for sure ! I have been to the DR and the CR and both are like shooting fish in a barrel lol. If time and cost are not issues then Thailand is top of my bucket list. I'd start in Bangkok then south to Pattaya and Phuket. I would do at least two weeks and for myself I prefer adventure vacations so I would see places like Vietnam and do things like scuba diving. I'm also partial to Asian women but Latin works too so I had fun in CR.

I have been to CR been many times, lots to do outside the city. I used to alternate between CR/Amsterdam but now both places are on the ' not worth it list.'. Their neighbors offer better ! Well for CR their beaches on the west coast, eco-tourism and great rafting on the east coast do make it a fun place for non mongering times. Hot springs and the volcanoes too. Can base in San Jose or Jaco and do all of the above. My opinion on CR is the best girls are the Colombian ones looks and bodies better than the Ticas and Nicas by a landslide. That being said they all get pipelined in by their pimps to CR so why not go to Colombia maybe and cut out the ' middle man' aka Costa Rica. Fly right to the source, just an hour longer flight.

The same girls who fuck in CR from Colombia also get shipped to Panama City ( don't go; waste of time and money went there 3X no urge go back) but point being the girls from Colombia who fuck in Central America can be fucked for 1/2 the price if you go to Bogota or Medellin. They charge more in CR/CA as they have to pay off their pimps and their boob jobs. Colombia has all the tourism opportunities CR has plus some. Medellin is where I want to go but I booked Germany the rest of this year so maybe next year, and maybe Brazil will go and meet a few of the German guys I know down there.

As always to each their own on preferences but give Colombia some thought as an alternative if you want Latinas; the ISG is loaded up with info on all spots in Colombia and you can use the CRT site for CR. https://costaricaticas.com/forums/

Either way you can't go wrong with Thailand or CR but IMHO CR is now an overpriced shithole thanks to all the retirees and overpaying fishermen ( Panama City is even worse!)

You're approaching it the right way, and I agree with your assumptions, except where noted below.

I tried to use Smooci, the premier escort site for English speaking customers in Thailand, a couple of times and was never able to connect with a woman. And really if I were in Thailand I wouldn't seek out an escort. Why do that when you have so many other venues to choose from - GoGo bars, beer bars, bars with elegantly dressed women, upscale freelancer spots (Spasso, Mixx), low end freelancer spots (Thermae), oil massage, soapy massage, attractive street walkers, etc. There are at least three bars in Nana Plaza (Rainbow 2, Rainbow 4, and the last escapes me but it's on the left as you walk in the entrance to Nana on the top floor) where you can find drop dead, model quality women. Or if chemistry is your thing, you can spend some time with your prospective date, have a couple of drinks, before you decide whether to go with her. You can't do those things with escorts.

Not really true, at least comparing Bangkok to San Jose. I'd say prices aren't that different, around $50 (lower end) to $100 (higher end). In Thailand at the GoGo bars you're paying the barfine in addition to what you pay the women. Factor that in and you can get to as high as 4000 Baht ($125) for short time for a true hottie (9+). However, Pattaya costs less and Jaco costs more, so if you were comparing beach towns I'd agree with you.

Yeah, but what are your chances of learning either well enough to say jack shit. Unless you've got a gift for languages, it won't happen. I think you'll find more English spoken in the farang (white guy) areas of Thailand, like the Sukhumvit area, than you will in Costa Rica. But I'm not sure as I used to speak Spanish with my dates there so don't have a good handle on the English skills of the average working girl.

One other consideration, I personally like the climate and the natural beauty of Costa Rica more than the area around Bangkok.

I have to say CR is beautiful for non mongering vacation time and I speak Spanish so communication isn't an issue for me. Thailand is still a dream and I need to go before I get too old lol.

One day I will see Thailand but I am saving it for when I am older as a possible place to live as it has prostitution, good health care and can live like a King. I figure if I spend too much money Thailand can be a fallback to move to one day when old(er) and the taxes are less than Europe and/or I will become a nomad and spend 6 months of the year in Germany, 3 in Thailand to offset the higher costs of Euro-living and the other 3 months with family in the USA and travelling to Colombia ( another potential resting spot)

CR is a beautiful country, forgot to mention to go high in the mountains and tour the coffee plantations, beans turn red I think as you go up in elevation. Their strongest beans rival the Jamaican Blue Mountain bean. We can't even get those beans here the Japanese bought much of the land in Jamaica at the highest elevations and those best beans go to Japan and the rest of the world gets the leftover beans which are still great but in CR a must do is to tour these plantations and many are along the road from San Jose to Jaco except since I made the journey they built the highway no longer winds thru the hills as much.

And thx for posting this thread as a friend and myself just started talking about a 3-4 day getaway to San Jose, do some gambling and fucking for a fraction the cost of Germany.

Have a good trip wherever you may choose; any monger ' hot spot' as both of these are outside the USA are wise moves compared to paying the rates in this country.
