Not sure what Carter has to do with the discussion. I voted against him and I certainly agree that his victory was due to Watergate more than anything else.

This FISA warrant issue is BIG...just look at the MSM and the DEMS reaction to the investigation(heavy flack when you're over the target).
Watergate was nothing...Nixon resigned. Criminal activity by a party is going to effect the party during the next election...it's called scandals...
You admit Carter won because of Watergate and then say the FISA warrant isn't going to matter...quite convoluted logic...Watergate and without it Carter loses...all the crimes committed by Obummer and his minions comes out...Trump wins easily.
When you commit a blatant political crime like the Unwarranted FISA crap...and you think that is nothing...you have blind party loyalty...this isn't going away as you and the left hope it will...

You call my OPINION "blind party loyalty". To be honest, I know little about the FISA warrants but from what I have read, it will have little to no impact on the 2020 elections. On the other hand, I look at your OPINION and see it as blind hope that something ,anything, will come out and be detrimental to Democratic hopes to regain the White House.
As I said, the future will tell. IF the issue turns out to have a major impact on the 2020 election, I will post on this forum that you were correct. However, if it turns out to have either a minor or no impact on the 2020 election, I would hope that you would post on this forum that I was correct. Deal?

Fuck the impact on the rest of the electorate. Why does it appear to have no impact on YOU?
In 1974 the dems (and most Republicans) were ready to impeach Nixon for covering up a bungled attempt to spy on the DNC and for trying to use the machinery of the federal govt against his political opponents.
In 2016 the dems actually DID successfully unleash the machinery of the federal govt (FBI, NSA, CIA) to spy on the opposing Presidential campaign.
Frankly, I am outraged by both scandals. Then and now. And I find it appalling that you and your party aren't.
Sure looks like "blind party loyalty" and/or TDS to me.
When the other side does it, it's an impeachable offense. But when my side does it, the end (defeating trump) justifies the means.
Right, speedy?

Trump is beatable. The Dem who gets the nomination would have to get the same 230 electoral college votes that Hillary got and flip Michigan, Penn and Wisconsin back to blue. It would not be difficult to flip three states back to blue that Obama won twice.

By whom? Joe Biden is in the lead of "the pack" right now!
By Mr. Starbucks?
I'm wondering if he "grabs pussy" and "hides his tax returns"!
I suspect he'll continue draining the "swamp" though ... that's what successful business people do .... clean house and balance the books ... along the way to making a profit by reducing the "overhead" costs.

My guess is that the overwhelming majority of the voters in this country are unaware of this issue. I'm sure you blame MSM.
I'll wait and see what the results of the investigation turns up before coming to any conclusions. In 2020 it will be Trump against an as of yet unknown Democratic nominee. At that time I will make my choice, as will 10s of millions of other people in this country. I will abide by their decision an accept the winner as the lawfully elected POTUS. No excuses.
BTW, I have no "party" as I've said several times. I am an "Independent" and vote for the candidates which best meet my political viewpoints. For most of my life, those candidates have been Republican.

Not to start an argument but rather a discussion. Do you think it is a foregone conclusion that Trump will again win the states of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania in 2020, states that brought him victory in 2016? All 3 would have to move from red to blue in order for the yet unnamed Democratic contender to win the electoral count, assuming the other states that voted for Clinton remain in the blue column.
Are you going on record as saying Trump will definitely win in 2020?

Right now it is an issue that most voters in this country don't know about. It has gotten little coverage by the media, and if you want to blame that on the media being liberal I won't disagree totally with you.
From the OP which started this discussion. "American Thinker" is possibly the most extreme right wing publication that exists.
https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/american-thinker/
.
So I would advise anyone to understand that the article is hardly unbiased.
Like I said, Trump supporters are hoping it turns out to be a significant factor in the upcoming 2020 elections. At this point I see Steele as the main culprit if there was wrong-doing. The Trump team wanted dirt on Hillary Clinton. The Clinton team wanted dirt on Donald Trump. Here is an article that I think FAIRLY looks into the incidents.

I can agree with that. Trump is beatable, anyone can be beat, thats really of minor importance. Whats of major fucking importance though, is do the Democrats have what it takes to beat him?

Funny the CSPOT'S candidate lies, cheats, admires dictators, flip flops, has no loyalty to his supporters.
Has memory lapses from Stormy Danial to defunding special Olympics then Wikileaks isn't my game.
Those are his strong points..

Lack of accomplishments...that's kind of funny. He dumped Hillary on the trash heap of history, two supreme court justices, he's beaten the media at every turn, he's made fools out of many democrats by exposing their hypocrisy, he's chipping away at Obamacare despite McCain's betrayal, he's gotten rid of thousands of regulations, he got us out of TPP, he renegotiated NAFTA, he got NATO to admit that they have not been paying their bills, he's undoing the Iran treaty, he's got Kim to start talking, he beat ISIS, He got us out of a 2% economy, and can we throw in Brexit and Bibi? Not to mention that he kept the promises made back to Reagan about our embassy and the Golan heights.

And just what if, in the 2020 election, a miracle happens and Trump carries California ..... different ballgame then ..... (to be very clear, not in a million years do I think this would happen) ..... but anything's possible - like flipping Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania back to blue ..... and to anyone who says Trump COULDN'T win California, as a reminder, just go back and watch the now famous Rachel Madcow youtube video where she figured out how if Trump carried these states or those states, even if this scenario or that scenario happened in his favor, "Trump STILL can't win!!!" ..... so you never know until all the votes have been counted, do you? .....
