So, I went to the story: this is what I found.
They call her office, her office denies everything and the next thing you know, some poor shlep on Facebook selling garbage to potatoes can’t reach his audience.
A high school kid would know enough to see this is a fake story. No reporter would be hired that didn't know how to write.

Past tense people, not present tense.
