There will always be voters who will believe anything.

The issue is that the media doesn't call itself out and discredit outlets that make unvetted, unsubstantiated and outrageous claims. Many of these sites are used to getting there talking points sourced from DNC sites like Media Matters, Think Progress, HuffPo and like sites.

Like the claim of Cohen's phone is an example. No vetting. Even if it was in Europe, so what? It would only be the first step in proving something. The phone number could have been used or lost or stolen. It doesn't prove collusion. Collusion in itself doesn't mean anything either.
