These posts crop up at least once a quarter. Experts from both sides weigh in. No one's mind is ever changed. In the end folks gonna do what they want. So why fight it?

No disrespect but everyone says that here, what does being picky mean?

It's all about risks. Keanu Reeves, I think, tells a story about a couple he knows. She ate healthy, exercised daily, took the "right" supplements, avoided risky foods, behaviors, minimized exposure, etc. Her man ate what wanted, drank what he wanted, did what he wanted. She died of cancer. He lived to be very old.
What each individual has to answer is, "Am I willing to be in that 2% that gets bit?" If so, you take the necessary steps to minimize risk andvaccept the outcome.
For those who think it'll get someone else, you need to test often. Prevention is merely reduction of risk. Early detection is the key to minimizing effects. It is the careless person that loses the game, because no one yet has figgered out not be in the 2%.
Like Smokey Bear says, "Only YOU can prevent forest fires," unless, of course, someone else has been playing with matches in the woods.

I agree that so many people have herpes, it's not life changing. And most others can be cured. But what about HIV? Does anyone have any knowledge of that being in our community?

my father-in-law had a large collection of stamps from wiemar republic. the only health risk in that hobby is contracting some weird pathogenic bacteria from post world war one years that survived in the gum resin used on those stamps. pottery making is also similarly risk free I believe.

Pottery making is INCREDIBLY dangerous. There's that spinning wheel, or "the decapitator," as it's probably not known in pottery circles. You could definitely stub a finger on that. Major owie!
