So to get their game plan based on areas they are targeting to stop trafficking. Their targets are flown here by plane, brought to a hair salon to get made up, then pimped out in front of the Texas Roadhouse in Waco, sometimes they are beat up by their pimps or johns sos they end up in the hospital.

I just read that about the Amarillo busts in both Potter and Randall Counties on Monday and Tuesday. I was curious how so many in such a short time. Would like more details if anyone knows anything additional.

Apparently, some were advertising on other sites similar to "Backpage" and these ladies were also walking the boulevard...certain areas along Amarillo Blvd you will see street walkers. If you're from the area, then you know this is like the Harry Hines of West Texas. It's a bad area.

Doesn't look to be a sting or bust but I would hop on over to the West Texas forum and inquire over there.

My stylist told me the posters were put up on the salons because state thinks that whoever is trafficking the girls will bring them in to get their hair done and get fixed up. Either way I thought it strange. And then when I went to the websites and saw all the funding they're getting and all the prostitution arrests they've made. I found it bothersome.

From what I've seen and heard its always been my understanding that just like we have our own network and community and the swingers have theirs. The ones doing the human trafficking have theirs as well and that these women and children being snatched up are usually being shipped out the country along with all the Cadillacs and other high end cars stolen off the lots at the dealerships and that the government is well aware of this.

Im pretty sure the mother of 4 stylist I use isn't going to be much help in the fight against human trafficking.. Just my thoughts

They're picking up the uneducated hobby folks that don't know any better, with all those dollars that need to be burn in man power, they have to catch people to show that they're making a difference lol

this gig has been going on for a long time, it will still here once we're all gone

The idea for the posters in salons is more about labor trafficking than sex trafficking. Salons are notorious for hiring undocumented workers off the books. Those situations leave a lot of room for people to be taken advantage of and not paid what they are owed. Sometimes they hold threats of ICE over their heads, etc.

my problem is this.. average people don't understand that distinction, and they see a sign like that in the window, and thoughts get in their heads.. thinking maybe a worker inside is sexually trafficked.. or sexual trafficking IS a big problem in Salons.. then they surmise that Asians are heavily trafficked (many salon workers are Asian). it's a "are you STILL beating your wife?" kind of mentality, mandating the posting of those signs.

besides, Salons are required to display the licenses of their workers.. licenses which can not be achieved by undocumented workers.. so why the overkill?

I’m not talking about stylists per se. I’m talking about the shampoo girl, the cleaning people, etc. in New York there is a lot of license fraud at nail salons.

Many anti-trafficking organizations are pro-decriminalization. They feel that taking the criminal element out of it would reduce the incidences of sex trafficking and allow the actual victims to come forward without fear of law enforcement.

now we are getting fakes.. that is what happens when Media and LE goes overboard, acting like the problem is widespread and out of control.. Imposters find it "chic" to include themselves.
