the rules are hiding in plain sight. which means they aren't hidden. any time i got points wasn't because i didn't know where the site rules were (regardless if i bothered to read them) it was simply a "philosophical" difference with the staff on posting. bhahaaaaaa

i am glad WTF finally gave up .. er .. got his answer about sig lines. seems i myself was also part of his ire. like you said .. the mod's would already have made some sort of private PM to anyone who had a sig line violation asking them to change it.

also .. the sig line under your avatar (not the sig line for your profile, hope i'm not confusing anything ... ) can be restricted by the staff now.

yeah .. certain terms if used without approval like "MOD", ADMIN", "BANNED" or "account disabled" .. if it does not apply on this site .. is a violation now.

the staff can remove the ability of members to change that part of your profile and revert it to generic titles like "valued poster". you may, of course .. feel free to message the staff with a proposal for consideration that is not a violation ..

if the staff approves your suggestion, they change it for you.

Thank you, TWK. I believe our esteemed moderator has implied bashing some of the offenders who are banned might result in adverse consequences, hence I will refrain from doing so, until our esteemed moderator gets tired of his thankless job policing this forum, and allows the old ways to creep back into practice.

It's somewhat amusing, but noteworthy, that this thread is approaching 100 posts regarding "a rule" in THE GUIDELINES.

Rules never concerned me, so long as they are in plain English, strictly construed, and are equally enforced among all persons subjected to them. Otherwise they are simply another tool to terminate folks or disqualify them.
