Law-abiding gun Owner Killed During Red Flag Confiscation Raid

That is because of the unscientific nature of mental health evaluations and assessments, which are heavily burdened with discretionary personal opinions and bias. That system is the darling of the Liberals and now they want to use it to confiscate firearms. No thanks.
Some of the suggestions, given the realities of the criminal justice system and family laws around the country, are unworkable, if not oppressively ridiculous, and the recent public spectacle of the KavanaughII hearing is a perfect example.
Almost to the person who opposes guns the committee members ASSUMED the ACCUSATIONS were true WITHOUT CORROBORATION.

Law-abiding gun Owner Killed During Red Flag Confiscation Raid
Gary Willis, a resident of Ferndale, Maryland, was awakened Monday morning at 5:17 a.m. when two officers from Anne Arundel County knocked on his door. A law-abiding gun owner, Willis answered the door “with a gun in his hand,” according to a police department spokesman. They were there to serve him with an “extreme risk protective order” and remove his legally owned firearms.
According to the spokesman, Willis put his firearm down to read the ERPO but then, apparently recognizing that it wasn’t a legal search warrant issued by a judge in accordance with protections guaranteed to him by the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, but instead was issued by a local judge under Maryland’s newly minted “red flag” law, he retrieved his firearm.
The spokesman said that Willis “became irate.” In the melee that followed, one of the firearms carried either by one of the officers or by Willis went off. One of the officers then pulled his own sidearm and shot Willis dead.
.... during his many years as a resident at his home in Ferndale nothing untoward happened. His niece, Michele Willis, said “I’m just dumfounded right now. My uncle wouldn’t hurt anybody.”

... generally my advice with regard to those who wish to brandish firearms is to avoid doing so in the presence of LAW ABIDING POLICE OFFICERS.
Otherwise one may end up like Willis ....

Except himself!
See the guy NOT guzzling beer ... and congratulating themselves ... he made the correct decision.
See the guy on the left .... congratulating Obaminable while guzzling beer ....
He made a "Willis" decision ... except .... no gun. And he was WRONG!
The really sad and concerning part is ... the two beer drinkers were LAW PROFESSORS!

They can't change the 2nd amendment, because there are guns.
Otherwise they would. They are already trying change the 1st one.
Just ask Tucker Carlson.

So has the Mexican Government! To name just one!
And I certainly wouldn't want to call out the City of Chicago!

I agree with LL. YOU CAN NOT BRANDISH A FIREARM IN THE PRESENCE OF A POLICE OFFICER WHEN HE IS CARRYING OUT HIS LAWFUL DUTY?
That has nothing to do with the 2d Amendment. It does have something to do with stupidity.
It's that simple.

What do you advise morons who ask you about the burden of proof in either a criminal or civil case? Where does your law degree come from?
Can you tell me how a picture of Obama "guzzling" a beer and "congratulating" has anything to do with this thread or topic? The legally obtained and served warrant is a result of state law. Are you implying they are drinking to or congratulating each other on the guy's death?
Instead of me guessing, please enlighten us what the point of the picture is..

Is that what the warrant said?
At the risk of having a mob (or MOD!) dispatched to my residence I will address the extreme you have suggested above .....
... and I will ask you back a similar more germane question:
SO he should have just SHOT THE OFFICERS trying to serve the lawful court order to confiscate the firearms from him?
As for the comparison to the two stupid people toasting beer mugs in the backyard of the White House ... it's highly relevant. The response in the instance matter was WRONG just like the response by the "Harvard Law Professor" was WRONG!
And had the "Harvard Law Professor" drawn a pistol to confront the officer, he hopefully would not be around to teach again or have a "victory lap" beer with the Prez! The officer would been authorized to use deadly force in response to a threat of deadly force (the officer does not have to wait until deadly force is used against him .... any more than a civilian does).

Maybe he could have obeyed the law. The police were following the process
He should have followed the process to get them back without[ violence.

A wiser decision made than anyone asking legal advice from you. And it also shows you have nothing to say about my post other than insult. You won't answer any of my questions.
Seems to me any thought can be stated without getting points. Or POINTS.
If you have a good enough vocabulary and aren't discussing forbidden topics that is.
I also knew you were going to ask "who is "us?"
Like I would answer an off-topic question (which is none of your business) intended as a diversion to my on-topic questions which you won't answer.
Please keep on topic,

I felt like we were talking about guns? Law abiding gun owner?
Of course, it could be argued that your response was off topic!
