The truth of the matter is, no one's methods are any more or less safe than anyone else. Once a cop is in the same room with you, odds are pretty good that you're getting arrested at that point.

Sure, there are SOME precautions you can take to prevent the above, but just because your ways are a LITTLE better than others doesn't mean you can crap on them for what they DON'T know. Instead, why not teach them better?

Just saying.

It's not about being more "street smart", Randall. What part of naïve don't you get? As I said, I'm simply curious about those folks that will accept unbelievable practices that are simply laughable. Doesn't require street smarts to know they are foolish … just common sense. Do you send money via PayPal before you meet to show you're serious? No? Why not? Has nothing to do with "street smarts". It's just dumb. Do you subscribe to a porn site with your personal information to prove who you are so the girl will "feel safe"? Of course not. Does that require "street smarts"? No … just common sense.

I love Google. I typed in "Why do hookers ask if you're a cop?", and this is what came up:

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/are-you-a-cop/

CLAIM: Prostitutes can safely challenge johns with the question “Are you a cop?” because law enforcement officers must answer truthfully.

STATUS: FALSE.

ORIGINS: Police don’t have to reveal their status, even when asked flat out. There’s nothing in the law to prohibit law enforcement officers from lying in the course of performing their duties.

Were this not so, there’d be no sting operations that involve telling wanted criminals they’d just won trips to Bermudas to get them to come on in, or undercover operations where cops pretend to be suppliers to drug buyers. Police couldn’t do their jobs were they restricted to telling the truth all of the time, and a moment’s thought about it should lay this belief to rest.

It has long been accepted hooker lore that a working girl could render herself arrest-proof by asking a prospective john if he were a policeman before anyone’s clothes came off. This belief in protection rested on the notion that even if the client did turn out to be a cop, his not being truthful about it would get the arrest thrown on the grounds of entrapment.

Entrapment, alas, has to do with leading someone into engaging in an illegal activity he or she wouldn’t otherwise have been involved in.

A hooker getting together with a john is the ordinary course of business — the act of prostitution is not brought on by the john’s talking the prostitute into doing something she otherwise would never have thought to do.

Even so, this bit of hooker lore is widely believed, and reliance upon it gets a number of girls arrested who might otherwise have passed on the trick.

In 1986 prostitute Dolores French and her lawyer husband Michael Hauptman wrote a legal pamphlet they planned to distribute nationwide to call girls through COYOTE (Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics), the national hookers’ association, and AIDS test programs being conducted in several cities.

Among other things, it warned that undercover police waving money have to go a long way to be accused of entrapping prostitutes. “Many people believe if you ask an officer if he is a cop, and the officer denies it, that is entrapment. This is a myth,” the pamphlet said.

Next time you are asked, say "I'm not on the Force anymore, I was let go 4 months ago for shooting an unarmed Civilian".

See how bad she want your business.

yes LE can lie during a undercover investigation, although they cannot commit a crime in order to gain evidence in a investigation.

Depends on the crime. If the crime is doing drugs.... Yeah, they're not SUPPOSED to, but nobody's gonna bust them. On the other hand, you're probably okay if you do the tried and true "Shoot this guy in the head" approach. That's why I always pick up a homeless guy on my way to every appointment. Make your provider shoot him before the clothes come off. If she hesitates, she's a cop, no question. Shoot her and run.

Absolutely wrong. Read the autobiography of the ATF dude that went undercover and took down the Mongols.

How would they ever seal a prostitution conviction in Texas without also committing prostitution?
